I have worked for Harris Oceanside Chevrolet Buick GMC Ltd for 16 years now, I started as a detailer washing cars on our lot in January 2006. I worked my way up making my way through Parts and Service before settling in Sales. In 2010 I was appointed the Fleet and Small Business Manager. Harris Oceanside is a great place to work, the staff are great and fun to be around, the management encourage you to be the best you can and support you in every way possible. The training from General Motors of Canada is phenomenal. In my own time I enjoy being outdoors walking and cycling as well as playing Tennis, but not without my iPhone, I love listening to music that's my happy place. I also enjoy watching Soccer (English Premiership) and when I can going to Vancouver Whitecaps games, Formula One is another sport I watch religiously. I purchased a used 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali from this dealership about a 6 weeks ago with roughly 61,000 km on it. Before purchasing, the sales representative showed me the inspection report and ass this dealership about a 6 weeks ago with roughly 61,000 km on it. Before purchasing, the sales representative showed me the inspection report and assured me the truck had passed everything and was in great condition. About four weeks later the truck went into limp mode and the check engine light came on. When I brought it back to the dealership, I was told that a part for the truck had actually already been ordered before it was sold to me. This was never disclosed during the purchase process. Since then the truck has been back to the dealership twice for the same fuel pump related repair. The most recent visit they kept the truck for 9 days. When I picked it up and drove it home, the check engine light came back on again. I’m extremely disappointed with how this situation has been handled. I purchased this truck expecting a reliable vehicle, especially after being shown an inspection report stating everything passed. Instead I’ve had repeated mechanical issues within the first 6 weeks and no meaningful solution offered by the dealership other than bringing it back again or trading it in at a lower value with no discount offered. I hope the dealership will step up and work toward a fair resolution. At the moment this experience has been very frustrating and far from what I expected when buying from a dealership. Do yourself a favor and get any used vehicle you purchase from these guys inspected by your own mechanic. The truck also needed new batteries, new air filter, new cabin filter, and the oil was changed 18,000km ago so needed that as well. The 150 point inspection they claim to do is most likely just penciled off to show they did it without the mechanic actually checking things properly. More
