Chevy certified- FAILED inspection and painted rims I purchased a Chevy Certified 2020 Traverse from this dealership mid November. The purchase was simple, straightforward, and completed within a night. The car only had 29K miles on it, so I felt comfortable with moving the sale along in a fast pace. Picked the car up a couple days later after they installed heated seats for us, which was a wonderful addition and was what accelerated the sale so quickly for me. A few days after I purchased the car, I went through a carwash and the black rims showed signs of peeling. All four rims. (Look on yelp for the photos) Me, not knowing much about cars, thought that seemed a bit off, never seeing paint on rims peel the way these did. Very frustrated and feeling ripped off, I swallowed my pride and decided to go to a car shop to have them order me new black rims and just let it be. Upon arrival, the gentleman asked me how long I have had the car. When I told him, I recently purchased it a week ago, he asked me where I bought it from. I said Herb Connolly Chevrolet in MA. He asked me if the car was certified and when I said it was, he shook his head and explained to me that certified cars should be held to higher standards. He then went on to explain that all four tires, not the rims, had dry rot on them and this car would not pass any state inspection and never should have left the lot in this condition. He laughed a little saying verbatim, “man, these dealerships just get slimier and slimier.” He also told me that it should be no problem getting rims and tires replaced seeing how 1- the car is illegal to drive and 2- those rims have been recently altered to look like a blackout edition when it is not. I went to an inspection station in MA to have the tires looked at again, just to make sure seeing how the Herb Connolly sold it as a passable car. FAILED inspection. The amount of phone calls I had to place to get ahold of anybody at this dealership to rectify this problem was alarming. I had to fight to have new tires put on and when I bring up the rims, the sales manager response, “you got new tires, didn’t you? The rims… well, it is what it is.” This is a shameful business practice and these rims have been rigged 100%. The car has 29K miles on it. There is zero probability that those rims would have lasted up until the day I purchased it and within the first wash, look they way they do. I tried to talk to a manager higher up. We played phone tag, so I emailed him my concerns and sent him photos of my rims. Since the email, he has not responded. So, moral of this story- There are a ton of chevy dealerships, select an alternative. They successfully deceived me twice and what they are doing here are despicable commercial methods. More

We had a great experience with Peter Franklin. He was one of the best salesman we have had when buying a car and we have bought many cars. Very professional, honest, knowledgeable and friendly. My experience with Herb Connolly was mixed, to put it mildly. I purchased a 2020 Chevy Bolt from Herb Connolly. My initial experience was excellent. I used the "text us" form on their website. The fo mildly. I purchased a 2020 Chevy Bolt from Herb Connolly. My initial experience was excellent. I used the "text us" form on their website. The folks I dealt with there, Glen M and Zayan R, were helpful and quick to respond. As the dealership is around half an hour from my house, I was hesitant to drive out there until I could verify that the vehicle was available (I'd had a bad experience with another dealership where I'd driven out and that wasn't the case). Someone from the sales department verified it quickly, and I scheduled an appointment. This was on a Monday. My salesman was Peter Franklin. He was very friendly, and knowledgeable about the product and the various government rebates. Most importantly, he never made me feel pressured to buy. All of my experience with him has been excellent. I decided to make the purchase, and put down a deposit. We scheduled a time on Saturday morning for me to take delivery. This is where my experience went from excellent to awful. After my wife dropped me off at the dealership on Saturday, I was told that the title for the vehicle was not on site, and that I would not be able to take delivery that day. I understand that mistakes happen, but it's frankly inexcusable that I wasn't told until I arrived at the dealership that the title was still in transit. The fact that no one noticed the title was missing between Monday and Saturday really makes the finance team look incompetent, and doesn't inspire confidence. That seems like a pretty basic step. I was also not completely happy with how the situation was handled. While everyone was polite and apologetic, and arrangements were made to get me back home so my wife wouldn't have to come back, I feel that some compensation should have been made without me asking for it. A courtesy car to use in the interim, for example, since I was told that the title was expected early the next week. I sent an email to the dealership on Sunday, and got a call from the sales manager early on Monday (one week after I'd looked at the car). He offered some compensation for the inconvenience. I appreciated that, and waited for the notification that the title was at the dealership. When I didn't hear from the dealership by Thursday, I called them on my lunch break. They called be back within five minutes or so, and let me know the title was there. However, I had to wait until the following Monday before I could take delivery because they didn't have any finance people available before then. Considering how I was inconvenienced when I went to take delivery the first time, it seems to me they should have asked what was convenient for me, and then made that work. It's a shame, and very disappointing that an otherwise excellent customer experience has been spoiled by easily avoidable mistakes, and a lackluster response. While I wouldn't tell people to avoid this dealership, I really can't recommend them either. More
