Nidal upsold me on some stuff, but I appreciated his willingness to not only take the time to explain things but stay very late because of it. He worked with me to customize some post-car-sale options that I didn't realize they even did, since this was my first experience purchasing a vehicle at a standard dealership (as opposed to Carmax). The dealership was nice. Clean, attentive, didn't have to wait very long. The on-site vehicle options are decent. My transaction took a long time, but that's because I was the bottleneck for the pace, since I'm a slow person. At some points they tried to avoid getting into the specifics of where all the numbers were coming from on the total price of the vehicle. It's not an offensive practice, some customers are very stupid when it comes to numbers and how they relate to value, so I understand the practice because they're trying to avoid someone trying to save a penny and end up with a worse deal. It was a minor inconvenience at worst. I had to call 3 times to get someone though, when I had to go back to the dealership to finish the transaction. The first two calls either dropped or the receptionist hung up on me, but I'm giving them the benefit of a doubt to assume the connection just dropped. The car I bought was a higher cost than a comparable model than one I had been considering from Carmax. In fact, it was also a color I wasn't as interested in. So why'd I pick Toyota? 1. I bought into Katey in particular, but 2. and at least as importantly, they have CRAZY insurance/warranty packages. They're expensive, but as someone who plans to have this car for a while, and use it regularly, it's an investment worth making. It's a very nice feeling to walk out of a dealership with a used vehicle and not have to worry at all about whether they missed anything in their quality inspections. Overall I'm happy about my purchase, and they'll totally be one of the first dealerships I go to the next time I'm in the market for one. I was originally gonna give them a 4/5 for some combination of how I feel about the overall price I walked out with and the questionable front desk phone calls, but decided to do 5 stars because ultimately they exercised normal sales practices and nothing underhanded, took the info I gave them about what I was in the market for and delivered a satisfying choice for me to make, and had very positive attitudes throughout our whole encounter. And high value prices but within reason for the amount of value that gets you. I never got any impression of disdain or condescension or impatience or shady practices from them. :) More

First let me begin that this review is not directed towards our sales person James Nemeth as he was extremely professional and more than helpful. The issue is the finance guy sitting behind his compute towards our sales person James Nemeth as he was extremely professional and more than helpful. The issue is the finance guy sitting behind his computer working on “deals” and the finance/contract guy Nidal. First don’t tell a family that the max they are approved for is $25,000 when I clearly walked in there with an approval letter of $48000 and even showed it to you. Next, you tell us you can get us in a 2023 RAV4 but couldn’t get us in a used car. That was because they wanted to push the new cars on people. Then we go to contract signing after paying our down payment with our credit card already knowing our monthly payment but the finance/contract guy Nidal wants to add a 1 year warranty to our contract for $50 more a month for the life of the loan without even asking us. Well we finally got him to take it off and we are now at the original monthly payment. We were told that the car had its oil changed and was serviced which isn’t true because the change oil light came on 2 weeks later. Then we get a phone call from the finance company asking for documents because the finance/contract manager Nidal never sent everything in. We were told to return the car to the dealership by noon today if we couldn’t send the documents then and there. We sent what was needed to the finance company and confirmed while on the phone with them that everything was good to go now. The finance company said yes everything is good to go and that they were happy to have us as customers. 4:15 pm today we get a phone call from the finance/contract guy Nidal saying we needed to get the documents to him that “he” never sent in or we needed to return the car. All of this 2 weeks after we drove off the lot, paid our down payment and with bad oil. I can honestly say if James wasn’t as nice as he was and how professional he was, I would have walked the day we bought it. Lesson learned! Definitely ask for someone different than Nidal when it comes to contract time. More
