My BMW dealership in PA tended to be staffed by BMW enthusiasts who did not propose unnecessary service work. BMW of Sarasota proposes work like fuel additives and oil flushes that are not recommended enthusiasts who did not propose unnecessary service work. BMW of Sarasota proposes work like fuel additives and oil flushes that are not recommended by the manufacturer. My service manager Lucy is great and goes out of her way to be helpful. That said, there does seem to be an expectation by the dealership that their staff should propose this additional work. I need to feel confident that I can trust the dealer to recommend work when it is needed but not to pad profit with products and services with no demonstrated benefit and which, according to some manufacturers (e.g. GM) may actually harm the vehicle. More
