Bait-and-Switch Tactics and Appalling Customer Service on a $100k Vehicle I recently purchased a new BMW X7 from BMW of Freehold, and the entire experience was incredibly disappointing. Having bought mult a $100k Vehicle I recently purchased a new BMW X7 from BMW of Freehold, and the entire experience was incredibly disappointing. Having bought multiple luxury vehicles from Mercedes and Land Rover in the past, I expected a certain level of professionalism and transparency. Instead, the excitement of purchasing a $100k car was completely ruined by deceptive financial practices and dismissive management. The Bait-and-Switch: After negotiating the terms, my sales rep (Vinnie) confirmed—in front of his manager—that my first month’s payment was included in my $7,000 down payment, so I knew my exact out-of-pocket costs. I spent three hours moving data from my trade-in and setting up the new X7. However, when I sat down to sign the paperwork with the finance manager (Ruslan), the contract listed 60 additional payments of $1,450 instead of the agreed-upon 59. Unprofessional Management : When I questioned the discrepancy, Vinnie honestly confirmed our original agreement right in front of Ruslan. The manager, Frank, then stepped in. Instead of honoring the deal his team had agreed to, Frank became agitated, refused to include the first payment, and dismissively told me "this is what it is." I was made to feel inferior and pitied. They even went so far as to hand me back my old keys and put the plates back on my trade-in. Vinnie was visibly upset, tearful, and very apologetic for his manager's actions, but Frank showed absolutely no remorse or appreciation for my business. I ultimately agreed to pay the extra $1,450 simply because I had already wasted 5-6 hours over two visits and didn't have the time to start the car-buying process all over again. Post-Sale Negligence: The poor service didn't stop after I drove off the lot. A month later, my temporary plates and registration expired. Nobody from the dealership contacted me. When I called them, I learned Vinnie no longer works there and my registration had just been sitting there. Their advice for driving with expired tags to come pick it up? "If you get pulled over, just tell them you're going to get the registration, or else we will figure it out once you are here." I deeply regret making the choice to buy from BMW of Freehold. Customers spending this kind of money should never be treated with such a lack of respect, communication, and transparency. I strongly advise taking your business elsewhere. More
