I negotiated with them via email prior to my first visit and was very clear with then before coming in that I did not want to finance (or if I did, I would need to be able to pay the loan off in full penalty free). After my test drive they told me I had to finance and keep the loan for a minimum of 7 months (which would have incurred approx $2,500 in interest over that period just to get a $1500 rebate which was part of our agreed upon price). They eventually waived this but it required a lot of unnecessary negotiation. Sam was pretty unfriendly right up until the day I picked up my car. When I picked the car up he was very personable and friendly. At the end of that meeting it was clear why he was so friendly then. He asked repeatedly for a good survey score and said his compensation depends on it. Had he been that friendly through the full process I would have given him 5 stars and provided very positive comments because during that meeting he seemed like a very nice and helpful guy. During the test drive it felt like I was putting him out. Dennis (finance guy) almost wouldn’t let me decline the extra warranty. I had to tell him “no” 4 times and each time he kept saying “really!?!?? You don’t want the warranty for a TAHOE?!?” I finally had to ask him if Tahoe’s were such poor quality that I’d need to purchase a $3000 warranty. Finally he allows me to decline. I was able to negotiate a slightly better deal than the other dealerships so that was one “plus”. I just would have appreciated a better experience given the fact this was a very large purchase. More
