TLDR: I would strongly recommend avoiding this dealership if you are ordering a high-demand GM vehicle. My experience ordering an $85,000+ 2026 Silverado 2500HD ZR2 Duramax was disorganized from the beginnin if you are ordering a high-demand GM vehicle. My experience ordering an $85,000+ 2026 Silverado 2500HD ZR2 Duramax was disorganized from the beginning and ultimately filled with contradictory information, poor communication, and what appeared to be either serious incompetence or deliberate misinformation from management. Before placing my order, I spoke directly with Andrew Garcia, the Business Development Manager, who assured me the dealership had allocations available and that if one Schumacher location could not fulfill the order, another location could. Based on those assurances, I placed my order on 2/19/26. The ordering process itself should have been a warning sign. Multiple employees were involved, the process was disorganized, and I personally had to sit there reviewing and highlighting options line-by-line because several mistakes were repeatedly made on an $85,000 truck order. Eventually the order was submitted, but later I discovered it had apparently been entered as TRE/dealer stock instead of SRE/retail sold, despite being a customer ordered vehicle. On 3/17/26, after GM still had not accepted the order, I emailed Andrew specifically asking about allocation status and constraints. I never received a direct answer — only “no update.” Then on 4/14/26, Andrew stated for the first time that no allocations had come through since I placed my order, directly contradicting the assurances I was given before ordering. On 4/17/26, both Andrew and sales staff told me the 2026 Silverado 2500HD order banks were closed. That statement was simply false. I was also offered a truck that was nowhere close to the configuration I ordered, and my follow-up emails afterward went unanswered. On 4/20/26, I contacted General Manager John Sautter looking for clarification. Instead of clearing things up, he doubled down and again claimed the 2026 order banks were closed, while simultaneously saying there was no information available regarding 2027 ordering. At that point I contacted another dealer, placed essentially the same order, and had it accepted by GM without issue. Then on 4/24/26, Andrew reached back out stating my “order” had finally been accepted. However, the accepted order was not even the same order number as the one originally placed with the dealership. After reviewing the GM workbench/event history, it became obvious that this was a different order that had been repeatedly re-edited before finally being accepted by GM. The history showed multiple 2030 “Order Re-edited” events immediately prior to acceptance. At that point, it strongly appeared that instead of my original retail order actually progressing through the system, another allocation/build had been modified after the fact to resemble my configuration once I started escalating concerns and preparing to walk away from the deal. Andrew also explained that the dealership’s ability to order 2500HD trucks had effectively stopped months earlier — before they ever allowed me to place my order in February. At best, management appears severely uninformed about GM’s HD allocation and ordering system. At worst, I was repeatedly given inaccurate information simply to keep me committed to the deal and in the showroom. Either way, after months of conflicting stories, ignored emails, misinformation, and an extremely frustrating ordering experience surrounding a major vehicle purchase, I completely lost confidence in this dealership and took my business elsewhere. To be fair, David Rose was professional throughout the process, and my deposit was refunded without any hassle. Unfortunately, that was the only positive part of the experience. More

Disgrace. Awful. They are all smiles until they get your money - then they show their true colors and don't care about you anymore. Email a manager - no Awful. They are all smiles until they get your money - then they show their true colors and don't care about you anymore. Email a manager - no response. Call and ask for a manager - nothing. While i was waiting for service - heard the receptionist talk dog grooming while the other lines were ringing. Service was a complete joke. No point in making an appoitment - they won't stick to it. Pathetic. Won't be returning. More

Went in for a test drive to see how the car drove and what kind of space it had to fit the kids once in a while. Took test drive with David Rose and found him to be very dismissive (once he knew I was n what kind of space it had to fit the kids once in a while. Took test drive with David Rose and found him to be very dismissive (once he knew I was not buying it today). Then he tried to make my test drive SUPER short and got irritated when I gave the Camaro some gas to see what it was like (moderate, but not floored). Meanwhile the person on the test drive just prior to me, in the EXACT same car took it for a drive by himself without a salesman. If they know you are interested in a car like this, the salesman should expect you to push it a little to get an idea whether you will be happy with it's performance. If they are not comfortable with that style of driving, DON'T go on the test drive! This guy needs to find a job that he doesn't have to deal with customers. Miserable and awkward experience. Even though David was unpleasant, the car drives so well that it immediately put a smile on my face. So when he asked if I wanted to order one when we returned to the store, I was ready to, but told him NO, because I didn't want to be around him for another second. Sorry Schumacher of Denville, but you won't be getting this sale because of your salesman (David Rose). The rest of my experience there was quite pleasant. More

Will not hesitate to return Some businesses give you nothing but trouble. Others, however, give you assistance, professionalism and solutions. I feel that this dealership falls c Some businesses give you nothing but trouble. Others, however, give you assistance, professionalism and solutions. I feel that this dealership falls clearly into the latter category, and I was particularly well served by David Rose, a seasoned pro who can juggle several xxxxx and never drop any. Tim Murray, the finance manager was also very friendly, approachable yet never overstepping, and handling matters with ease. My first ever new car purchase turned out to be a remarkable experience, and I didn't even need to mention the car... :) More

My experience with Gearhart Chevy was great! I was in the market for a new Corvette Stingray and Andrew informed me that there was one last allocation left at Gearhart. I rushed into the dealer and was able market for a new Corvette Stingray and Andrew informed me that there was one last allocation left at Gearhart. I rushed into the dealer and was able to order my Stingray and get everything I wanted in less than 10 minutes. Then the waiting game started as I awaited delivery of my new car. Both Andrew and Dave were helpful when it came to my numerous inquiries as to the status of my vehicle's production. My car showed up in less than a month and I was able to get the vehicle trade-in process and all paperwork done pretty quickly. Was out the door and driving my new car in no time! There was a dealer installed option on the car so I ended up bringing it back for the install, at which time Gearhart gave me a rental at no charge. Both Andrew and Dave are exceptional at their jobs and I would highly recommend them both to anyone in the market for a new vehicle! More
