Re: 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe, Vin # 5XYZT3LB1FG282178 Dear Customer Assistance Center, On June 23rd, 2023, around 10:30 A.M, my vehicle was taken to Capital Hyundai of Jacksonville, NC for a servic Dear Customer Assistance Center, On June 23rd, 2023, around 10:30 A.M, my vehicle was taken to Capital Hyundai of Jacksonville, NC for a service/diagnostic appointment I'd requested days prior, due to the TPMS, downhill assist, traction control, and ABS issue indicators illuminated simultaneously. During the call I was informed of an active recall pertaining to an anti-theft software update and ensured this be completed during the same appointment. On July 05, 2023, at approximately 7:45 AM, while driving home, the engine shut off, all attempts to start the vehicle were unsuccessful, and a tow truck was required. A mechanic from the shop contacted me the next day to say my vehicle started immediately during the assessment and could be picked up once the tow and diagnostic fees were paid. On July 07, 2023, while driving to a medical appointment, the engine seemed have a reduction in power, even a low rate of speed could not be maintained, it started jerking, the RPM's fluctuated erratically, then it began making a tapping noise that quickly escalated to a loud and constant knocking. completed engine failure occurred just as I pulled off the road. Tow truck required, again. On July 18, 2023, the mechanic who had previously been unable to identify the issue called to let me know there was nothing he could do. He went on to say he suspected it may be a defect within the timing and crank mechanisms, but did not believe it could be caused by use, mileage, wear or tear, etc. After receiving this information, I called Capital Hyundai and was urged to get the vehicle to their service department so a Hyundai certified Master Technician could diagnose the issue, but they could not arrange any towing services, I'd have to figure out how to get my car to Hyundai's service shop but did make sure to recommend a specific tow company before ending the call. My car was towed to Capital Hyundai later that same day. Tow Truck #3 required. On July 21, 2023, I was able to speak with "my Hyundai advisor" and was told 2015 Santa Fe's were frequently towed to the service center due to engine failure. He explained the issues I described were all commonly reported by Sante Fe owners, it was a known issue and Hyundai had acknowledged and taken responsibility for these vehicles by covering the repairs. He stated he was almost certain my car would be covered by Hyundai but would not be able to begin working on it until the following Monday. When I inquired about a loaner/rental car the response was uncertain, if this would be possible but doubtful. Then I was told I would be without my own vehicle for an unknown period due to the process of getting approval from the corporate office. On July 25, 2023, I was notified my car would be covered by Hyundai and a new engine was required. Again, I asked about a loaner/rental car, as my family has now been over 30 days without any means of transportation, and cannot pay for any rental vehicle, up front out of pocket, due to the increasingly dire financial situation this has caused. Again, the response was doubtful. After nearly begging for some form of transportation so my husband could secure jobs, and my family could access life sustaining necessities, such as groceries, medical treatment for my own terminal lung disease, my daughter’s autism and seizure disorder, etc., I was told the request would be presented to corporate, and once a decision was made, they'd let me know. Later the same day I received a call letting me know the rental had been approved and a vehicle was ready for me at the Hertz located at 123 Western Blvd, Jacksonville, NC, and I could pick it up immediately with a $50 deposit and an ID. I again explained I have no way to get to Hertz, to which I was offered a ride share service which would also be covered. I had a really enjoyable experience buying an SUV from Capital Hyundai of Jacksonville NC. They were the only dealership that had the exact vehicle that I wanted to buy. Michael Allen and I handled from Capital Hyundai of Jacksonville NC. They were the only dealership that had the exact vehicle that I wanted to buy. Michael Allen and I handled all of the business over the phone. He gave me a great trade in value and competitive final cost for the Hybrid Santa Fe. By the time I got to Jacksonville, the SUV was ready to go. The finance director went through the paperwork within a few minutes and the sale was final. Michael took the time to make sure I was aware of all the special features of the vehicle. It was a totally stress free process and Michael followed through with every detail that was promised. The professionalism and kindness at Capital Hyundai was truly impressive. More

This was the third Hyundai dealer we had visited over a one week period and by far the best. David met us at the door. We walked out to the vehicle we wanted to see and David immediately impressed us with his knowledge of the product. In addition to answering all our questions David also provided relevant information we didn’t think of asking. The rest of the day exceeded all of our expectations.
