This was the absolute worst car buying experience I've ever had. I bought a 2014 jeep wrangler from security dodge on September 4th. During the test drive I noticed a noise coming from the breaking system ever had. I bought a 2014 jeep wrangler from security dodge on September 4th. During the test drive I noticed a noise coming from the breaking system. My salesman Tom Sweeny told me not to worry about it, he would get it into the shop and fix the problem before I left. The jeep went into the shop and I was told that the problem was that the truck had been sitting for a while and had some rust on the brake rotors that needed to wear off so I took ownership of the vehicle and drove it for a week. The noise did not go away and the engine had now started ticking and there was a slow leak in a tire. I called to make a Service appointment and was told there were no available appointments until November. The girl on the phone told me that I could bring in my jeep on a Saturday for 1st come 1st serve service for things like oil changes and brakes. I arrived at the service center at 7:00 am on September 11th, they took the jeep in and parked it in the back lot. Several hours went by without the jeep even being looked at. Finally after 5 1/2hrs of waiting they brought the jeep in the shop, they went for a road test and brought the jeep back in. The jeep was in the shop for about 10 minutes when they pulled it back out, told me they couldn't reproduce the brake noise and they plugged the tire. I asked the service advisor on duty to come for a ride with me to hear the noise. I was able to reproduce the noise the 1st time I applied the brakes. They then brought the truck back in the shop, took off the tires to replace the brakes and promptly came up with another excuse that they couldn't fix it. I've been waiting for 7 1/2 hrs at this point so my entire day was wasted.. I was then given an appointment to drop off the jeep on October 15th. Again, the jeep sat in the lot. A week later, I was informed that they were not going to replace the brakes and the noise was coming from some kind of clips used in the system. Now they were diagnosing the engine tick. They concluded that the jeep needs some major engine work (new lifters, new camshafts and new rockers) At the time of drop off I had driven the vehicle approximately 2,300 miles and it was 41 days since i took ownership. At this point, the jeep gets parked in the lot again and the service advisor Geo starts the process of using my extended warranty to try to get paid for the work. To my understanding, the use of my warranty is not applicable. The form that I recieved from security dodge upon taking ownership clearly states that "the dealer will pay 100% of the cost for parts and labor" for the repair that's within the nys lemon law allotted time of no more than 60 days and 3000 miles. My vehicle was still week within these parameters. I explained this to Geo 3 or 4 times over the next 2 1/2 weeks while my jeep just sat there waiting, and every time I called to check the status I got a new excuse as to how the warranty company was giving him the runaround. I told him several times not to use my warranty and that it was not applicable. Finally after whatever creative book keeping happened over there, they got the warranty repair approved by the company. In previous phone calls, I was told that they had all the parts needed to do the job. At the time they told me they for the work approved they now had to order parts. Another week goes by. They finally get the parts and begin the repair. The repair was finished on November 11th which was a Thursday night and at that point 27 days some I dropped off my jeep. The QC department test drove the vehicle the next day and the check engine light came on.. I again called to check the status and was told that the camshaft that was replaced was defective so they needed more time and would have it ready in Tuesday November 16th. I recieved a text message from Geo on November 16th stating that again they needed to order parts and my jeep "should" be ready on Friday. I again explained how frustrating this had been and continues to be citing how much time had been wasted.. I did recieve a loaner vehicle, but that's a whole other complaint.. this loaner was disgusting. There was garbage on the floor, every surface inside was filthy, the windows were so dirty you could barely see out of them and the exterior looked like it had been driven in the snow all winter without so much as a rinse.. In these times with covid, how is this acceptable?? Short answer.. it's not Now 34 days after dropping off my jeep in told the vehicle is ready to be picked up. •My brakes still make noise and they still pulse •Now my heat doesn't work •They left me with no gas in the tank (it had 3/4 of a tank in it when I dropped it off. •Garbage was left on the floorin the back seat and inside my glove box Obviously, I will never be making another purchase from security dodge and I will also never be bringing my vehicle back for any kind of service. It's nearly impossibly to get someone on the phone, and most of the time nobody returns my calls. This has been the very worst case buying experience I've ever had. (I'm 44 years old and have purchased over 20 vehicles in that time) Next time I'll find a new mechanic. I caution anyone reading this review. Go somewhere else. Security dodge doesn't care about you. They only want your money and then they toss you aside like the trash they left in my jeep for me to clean up. More
