We bought a 2020 XC60 Momentum with the Advanced Package from Alon Katende at Smythe Volvo last week. We spent ~6 weeks test driving, researching, etc. and Alon was never aggressive or pushy during the pro from Alon Katende at Smythe Volvo last week. We spent ~6 weeks test driving, researching, etc. and Alon was never aggressive or pushy during the process. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He was patient as we had many, many questions about both the car and the buying process. The dealership was surprisingly busy through COVID and Alon would often answer texts and emails late in the evening or on Sunday – he’s very dedicated! Smythe wasn’t able to secure our first choice color choice from another dealership, however they were able to find us a great alternative from their inventory and we are very happy with our new car. They also picked us up from a dealership in another town as we returned our previously leased car so that we could drive home that evening in our new car – great customer service! When we picked up our new XC60, Emilia Paladino spent over an hour with us providing a detailed overview of the car’s functionalities and shared her contact info for any follow-up questions. She was very professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. We understand she’ll be launching some videos on setting up / using the Volvo functionalities in the near future, which will surely be helpful. The 2017 S60 I bought CPO is great, the dealer did a good job prepping the car for my pickup. I am disappointed with the finalization of the sale process. It took over 3 weeks to receive a check from the dea job prepping the car for my pickup. I am disappointed with the finalization of the sale process. It took over 3 weeks to receive a check from the dealer and was not able to get a straight answer until I spoke to manager. The entire process took well over 4 weeks to complete with additional money that needed to be put down because the deal was not structured correctly in the first place. Everyone was nice however the lack of organization and communication was poor. More

The Best Service Ever!!!! My experience with Alon Katende of Smythe Volvo was absolutely AMAZING. I began having detailed discussions over the phone prior to even stepping into My experience with Alon Katende of Smythe Volvo was absolutely AMAZING. I began having detailed discussions over the phone prior to even stepping into the Smythe Volvo dealership. Alon was very patient and knowledgeable answering every question I had about the 2020 XC90. He knew this vehicle inside and out. Our meeting at the dealership was very informative as Alon walked me through all the features of all the models keeping me engaged with honest conversation. He came across as a very trust worthy guy and it felt comforting. After deciding on the model (RDesign XC90 T6) Alon assured me that my order would be placed and ready in approximately 3 months. The 2020 R-Design XC90 was a special order because of all the items that I wanted in the vehicle. I was more than happy to wait, and he did not pressure me to purchase a model that was already on the showroom floor. I felt he truly wanted me to be a happy buyer at the end of the day. So I signed the purchase order for my 2020 RDesign XC90 on Feb 7, 2020 right before the Covid19 Pandemic. Can I just say that during this uncertain time with all that was going on in the world, Alon Katende kept in constant contact with me providing delivery updates for my vehicle as well as answering questions over the phone and via email. I was kept abreast of all Volvo promotions and pricing that were applicable to my vehicle and there were no surprises. It was very clear from the start of meeting Alon that he takes great pride in making sure his customers are informed and happy about their purchase with no stress or confusion. Alon's patience and hard work to ensure that the customer is completely satisfied was immeasurable. I receive my XC90 and I cannot be more happy with Alon and the Smythe Volvo family. Fair at best - needs improvement It took 3 employees and six days to purchase a CPO car. While Deborah was wonderful and Steve was good, I would not recommend working with Alon. The transaction took 7+ hours over two days (Sat and Thurs) to purchase a car. I walked in from Costco knowing what I wanted. UPDATE - The Sales Manager, PJ has since reached out to me. I shared my experience with him so he could figure out how to ensure all customers have a wonderful experience. He was very understanding and made no excuses. He is definitely an asset to Smythe and made me feel he will work to ensure all customers have a positive car buying experience at Smythe. More
