best car buying experience yet ok here is the story. I was the owner of a 1 year old jeep that I traded my Honda for last year. after having several problems with this jeep and with it back at the jeep dealer again I took a cruise into Whitby Honda. I was not looking to buy anything really I was just window shopping but was also open to a Honda since they have been great to me in the past just not sure if a jeep trade in was an option. when I walked in I was greeted by salesman Peter Van Dorsser. super nice guy I explained my situation to him and he asked me what I was looking for without trying to push me into anything. we discussed what kind of options were there and when I found a car that I really liked (acura ilx) and not wanting to break the bank pete told me he would have to talk to the big wigs Ifukhar Khaliq and Richrd Alam. after talking to the big wigs pete came back with an offer that was more than fair so it was a no brainer I was back in a Honda/acura. I have bought several cars from dealers over the years in 3 different provinces and I always find dealers pushy and wanting to steer you into something I was not interested in I didn't have that feeling here at all. from the sales staff to the managers they took the time to listen to what I wanted and figured out a way to get me into the car I wanted at the price I wanted I cant thank them enough they have gained a customer for life. they took the time to show me how everything worked in the car and introduced me to the service staff also so I know who to talk to when its service time it had a very family feel over there. its only been a day since I got the car home and have already recommended Whitby Honda to 3 people and will continue to do so in the future cant say enough good things about these guys. I hope this review is helpful but I suggest you go in for yourself you wont be disappointed ask for Peter Van Dorsser he will take good care of you More

"Safety Inspection" but not safe to drive Bought a used truck from this dealership. The sales experience was average - nothing to complain about and nothing to jump up and down about. The problem came when driving the truck home (I was from out of town). I noticed a ticking and brought the truck to a local garage. Upon inspection the mechanic noticed several things that should not have passed an Ontario Safety Inspection. Because some were rather alarming I had them do another Safety Inspection. It came back with $2000 of work needed to pass the safety. Most disturbing was the brakes which, as the mechanic explained to me: "one hard stop and the brakes would fail". Also disturbing was a spare tire held on under the truck with an almost disintegrated nut. The mechanic said it was just waiting to fall off. Also needed a new exhaust manifold (that was the ticking), emergency brake work, and some suspension work. Something as simple as tire pressure was also overlooked as the front tires were 20 PSI over inflated. Also noted by the local garage was approximately $4000 of work needed, mostly for items that the garage said just barely met the safety requirements. This was essentially new brakes and ball joints. Now, this dealership sold me a "safety inspected" vehicle and let me drive away (over 1,000 km) with a vehicle that could have had its brakes fail and the spare tire fall off. Granted, the spare tire wouldn't impact me but I'd hate to be driving behind or beside the truck on the 401. Needless to say I'm not impressed that they would put my family's and other driver's safety in jeopardy. The dealership did pay for the $2000 for safety related items but it was like pulling teeth. I almost had to involve the Ministry of Transportation. However, I now have a used truck that I have to put $4000 of work into and not one bit of help from the dealership for that. I also had to pay the cost of the second safety inspection. Oh yeah, and not once was there any apology for the dangerous situation they put my family into. Be very wary if purchasing a used vehicle from this dealer. Their "Safety Inspection" is not very good. I'm skeptical if one was even performed on my vehicle or if it was simply a paperwork exercise. Don't waste your time or money - Terrible Sales Management!! I called and made an appointment to view/purchase a specific used vehicle. I was coming from a significant distance so I booked an appointment with a I called and made an appointment to view/purchase a specific used vehicle. I was coming from a significant distance so I booked an appointment with a Sales Manager (Iftikhar Khaliq) and asked that the vehicle be held for me to test drive/view/purchase. I assured the Manager that I intended to purchase the vehicle and asked if he wanted a down payment to hold the vehicle until I arrived to arrange the purchase. No worries at all - we will hold it for you, I was told. Upon my arrival 2 hours later, no arrangements had been made and after speaking with another Sales Manager on duty, I was told that this vehicle had just been sold to another client a few minutes ago. I asked how could this happen as I specifically called 2 hours prior to make sure that a situation like this would be avoided. "I just checked with the General Manager (John Biglow) and it's a firm deal" I was told by the on-duty Manager with a shrug of the shoulders. At no point was an apology offered, nor did the General Manager (who was well aware of what was going on) come over to apologize and/or see if something could be put together on another vehicle with a little more incentive to purchase and keep the customers that came to purchase a vehicle, happy. What a terrible experience and a complete waste of time for a customer coming to purchase a vehicle!! If I were the dealer principal of this dealership, I would seriously be questioning what I pay these Managers for. Here was a customer coming to purchase a vehicle, being jerked around and allowed to leave, very upset, without spending a dime of the money they intended to spend in my dealership!!! Pathetic, again, Don't waste your time or money here. They like to use fancy words like "Best Price" - "No Surprises" & "Full Transparency" Not at all the case! More
