They say this is Edmonton’s number one Toyota dealer? HA! I would hate to see their worst then. If I could rate a zero I would. I recently took a vehicle I was buying for my son to this dealership to get a pre-purchase inspection completed. Wanted to make sure I was buying a good vehicle. Their service dept did an inspection and stated that everything was great, minus little things like wear and tear which is expected when buying a used vehicle. I bought the truck based on their inspection and drove it home. Once I got home my boys wanted to test drive. Turns out the passenger seatbelt doesn’t lock in place, it wasn’t even the correct one. Hmmm the inspection said the seatbelts were good?? I started inspecting more closely and noticed more items that were not safe on the vehicle. I called Mayfield and the service manager Chris Keller booked it into country Hills Toyota for another inspection. This dealership did a great inspection and deemed the vehicle not road worthy due to all of the failed and unsafe items found. I called Mayfield and asked how their dealership said it was good to go and “safe” and in less then a week another dealership, that they own, deems it unsafe and not road worthy. The service manager did not give a crap that the vehicle was not inspected properly and proceeded to tell me the employee that inspected it is really good!! I had to ask for my money back that I paid for my inspection, which is the only good thing I received from this deal! Wasn’t even offered to me. I tried to call the GM David Friesen and asked if there is anything they could do to help me out with repairs as I bought the vehicle for $17250, that my 18 year old son saved half for and we are now out a vehicle and the money as the xxxxxxx that sold it to me basically told us to hoop our heads. The GM told me to put it on the auction site, haha, ok I’m going to sell an unsafe vehicle to someone else!! xx!! He was more focused on how to improve their processes moving forward then even offering to help with repairs to get the vehicle to safe status. Then he told me I shouldn’t have purchased a rebuilt vehicle. Really, thanks TIPS! Maybe your team should have inspected it properly and I wouldn’t have bought it!!!!! Isn’t that why we get a professional dealership to do an inspection in the first place?? We own four Toyota vehicles in our family I can tell you I have never experienced anything like this in my entire life but I will NEVER buy or take a vehicle to Mayfield Toyota EVER again if this is the smack you get for trusting that they have done their job on the inspection in the first place. What is the purpose of having an inspection done before purchasing any vehicle if it’s not done right in the first place. I would let a donkey inspect my car before I’d take it back here! Thanks Mayfield Toyota for your great inspection and for screwing my hard working 18 year old son out of his hard earned money!! Casey Curran was very easy and friendly to work with. He returned my calls when I phoned him about a concern.
