Very good buying experience and very good service experience Olie Hansen helped me with the purchase of my new Subaru XV. I had done lots of research and had made my mind up on the vehicle including options and Olie Hansen helped me with the purchase of my new Subaru XV. Olie treated me respectfully, assisted me in getting a fair price and did an excellent job following up on the installation of a hitch through to the delivery of the vehicle. My only issue with the vehicle in the 24 months since purchase has been a creak in the dash. The service department has been successful in resolving the problem and now I can say it has been an amazing vehicle. You can always get a better cappuccino at the expensive dealerships but I don't need that from my service department and that would not be a subaru thing anyway. More

Appalled by the dishonesty and lack of due diligence City Subaru Edmonton: -Did not abide by their regulations as a licensed dealership to disclose the required mechanical history to the customer. -The City Subaru Edmonton: -Did not abide by their regulations as a licensed dealership to disclose the required mechanical history to the customer. -They did not complete their due diligence as a licensed dealership. -They put several lives at risk by selling a vehicle that had been rebuilt improperly, yet claiming a clean inspection. -They were unreasonable when finding a solution to the problem. -They showed little concern for their customer’s satisfaction and safety. FULL STORY: In March 2014, I purchased a 2013 Subaru Forrester from Subaru City, in Edmonton Alberta. I had done much research on a safe and reliable vehicle that would suit my new family’s needs. Subaru city had several 2013 models available with low km’s and upon test driving, discussing accident history with the sales associate, checking the car proof report, reviewing a clean inspection report and completing due diligence on my end, I purchased the vehicle with confidence. Much to my dismay, I later learned, only by chance, that the vehicle had an extensive mechanical history that was never disclosed by the dealership. After purchasing the vehicle with 19,000 km’s, the 2013 Forrester stalled 3 times in 8 months. One of those times, on Deerfoot Trail, a main artery in Calgary, at rush hour. Not only putting my life and my baby in danger (I was 5 months pregnant) but also those on the road with me. After much discussion with the mechanic at the Subaru dealership in Calgary, he was concerned and persistent in finding the problem. What he learned was disheartening. The vehicle had come from another dealership in Edmonton (Rally Subaru) where the engine had been replaced, transmission extracted in order to do so, and evidently reassembled very poorly. In addition, on the 3rd visit to the Calgary Subaru mechanic, he reported the starter wires became detached from the engine, something he stated was very uncommon unless the vehicle had been in an accident. When brought to City Subaru’s attention, they denied knowing the mechanical history and were not willing to take responsibility or come to a compromise in order to resolve the situation. I had to file a complaint through the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council (AMVIC) and only then did they make minimal effort to try and amend the situation. After some discussion and negotiation, the only solution they had was for me, the paying customer, to pay approximately $5000 more for a newer 2014 Subaru, where I would have to absorb the cost difference, and they would clearly make more profit. I simply wanted the vehicle I paid for, not the rebuilt version and giving them $5000 more out of my pocket, to fix their mistake, seemed incredibly unreasonable. I was willing to split the $5000 dollar cost with City Subaru because of the newer model but they refused the offer and were not willing to negotiate further. Not often do I complain but I am appalled at the dishonesty and poor service I received at City Subaru, Edmonton. I feel that it’s important other potential customers know the risk of dealing with City Subaru, Edmonton. After this terrible experience, I will not be buying a Subaru vehicle for my own family or recommending Subaru to friends and family. More

You add a fair markup and ignore inflated fees such as "documentation and $300 for a block heater ($100 part, 5min install). After presenting our offer we received from Calgary Subaru Edmonton refused to match it, called us liars, were openly hostile to us, and outright lied to us. After bringing our offer to his sales manager, the salesperson came back saying we have a deal. This is despite him saying there is no way they would sell it at the price we offered since they would be losing money. We then looked at the offer document with the sales managers scribbles on it and say it was inclusive of all fees, taxes, AND REBATES. This is not what we specified in our original offer and we clearly said this. In sum, the sales team at Rally Subaru tried to pull a fast one on us. We walked out after demanding our credit card back. We subsequently made a deal with Calgary for below what we offered. I am saddened at how poorly City and Rally Subaru treat their customers and sully the brand Subaru Canada has worked so hard to create. More

Sales person even try to hide fees on the contract, and sales manager could play the number game with you for couple of hours, but the skill very snake. Very nice car, unfortunately the owner monopoly the Edmonton market, almost all the sale person in there plays very old school way for sale the car. " Death of sales man". Never recommend any friend go to the Edmonton dealer. More

Everytime I go to this dealership, I feel like I am a waste of their time. When it comes to service, this dealership feels that as soon as they sell you a car, they can treat you however they want. They do nothing to go out of their way for their customers and overcharge for everything (there's no way that brakes for any car should start at $3300!) They have declined warranty work that another dealership outside of Edmonton gladly picked up. I will not be buying my next car from this dealership or Rally Subaru who is owned by the same people. This dealer pulled a bait and switch on the price that was negotiated. I negotiated an all-in, everything included deal for a specific dollar amount, minus my trade-in, such that the amount I had left to was negotiated. The deal was to include all fees and taxes, everything was spelled out in writing. I left a deposit for the vehicle, and was to pick it up 3 days later. Upon arriving to pick it up, the final bill of sale has additional GST added, over and above the all-in price that was negotiated. The GST was included in the original deal, so they basically tried to charge it twice. In addition, they increased the amount they tried to charge for the air conditioning tax, higher than what is set by the government. They also added additional registration fees which were never discussed. In the end, the price presented at time of vehicle pick up was more than $1300 higher than what was originally agreed upon. I tried to present my case, I tried to meet them halfway, and I tried to renegotiate something that might be suitable for both of us, so that I am not out the $1300 and so that they are not losing that much either. But they refused to do anything about it, turned antagonistic almost immediately, and refused to return my deposit. More
