The dealer performed a major service on my 2008 Volvo XC70 early without authorizing them (according to the kilometer reading was supposed to be minor service) in an attempt to get more money from me. Called twice to speak to the manager and he did not call me back. When asked to replace defective parking sensor, quoted me >$400 for this (and 2.5 hours labour), which I refused. The same job was done at Volvo Hamilton for $117.95 total labour and sensor (30 minutes labour). The sensor costs $45. To fix a dent, then quoted $450 and then when we asked them again 2 months later they quoted $650, then when questioned, said they would "honour the former pricing". You can see they essentially charge whatever they feel they can get away with without consideration of the true time or labour, or parts and material involved. Incidentally, they also refused to give a loaner since I did not buy the car from them.
I think this says all about them. Take your Volvo to Adria on Bank Street.
