Was happy with my trade in value and the cost of the vehicle I bought but within a week of driving it the truck started shifting different the odd time so took it to two different shops and turns out th vehicle I bought but within a week of driving it the truck started shifting different the odd time so took it to two different shops and turns out the transmission was toast(clutch plates burnt out with pieces of them and some metal throughout the transmission,oil was black).asked both shops if I could have done the damage in the 6 weeks I had driven it (hauling my trailer twice) and both said no this started awhile ago.i remembered while going through the purchasing process that i was told that the previous owner was a mechanic who traded in on a one ton(my truck was a 3/4 ton)and now it makes sense that he needed a bigger truck and probably knew something was up with the tranny.the dealership talked about me trading it back in but I had already put in $6000 in accessories for the truck that they wouldn’t have given me credit for so $11000 later the transmission is rebuilt and I haven’t heard back from St. Albert dodge.the mechanical check that they performed had no information on it at all it is just check marks so I have no idea what they actually checked on anything on the truck,hopefully the worst is over and the truck will last years without any other work.highly recommend taking any vehicle to an independent mechanic for a check before buying , unfortunately I out too much confidence in the dealers check More
