To whom it may concern, We are disappointed to hear your experience wasn't the way our business leadership encourages our sales associates or the staff to fulfill our mission to provide guests with transparency and integrity. We apologize. Deposits at Sherwood Ford are NOT required to HOLD a vehicle during the time a guest is giving consideration to the purchase of any vehicle. A deposit by credit card or cash, is only accepted to secure a vehicle at the time a guest has made a purchase with the full-intent to finance purchase or pay cash. Deposits are 100% refundable. However, circumstances determined by the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council, such as when the dealership incurs costs to install accessories at the request of the guest on a vehicle, and then a guest who has agreed to a purchase under Bill of Sale contract cancels, may permit the dealership to withdraw that portion of the deposit or to withhold a deposit entirely. Management needs to further investigate the complaint to determine what occurred verbally or under contract between yourself and Mr. Dahlman.
