Purchasing a used car I recently went to Performance Mazda in Orleans after seeing a used Mazda 3 that I was interested in purchasing. On the first visit I met with a nice sales person who showed me the car. I noticed that tires were very worn and said that they would need to be replaced. He agreed and said that I should make this part of my offer and we discussed pricing in general terms. He said that a very low offer had recently been refused ($2500 below the asking price) and said that I should make an offer and he would present it to the manager. I came back on another visit with my wife to test drive the car and have another look. We decided to make an offer on the car, offering $1500 less than the asking price (including tax) expecting to negotiate somewhere between our offer and the asking price. The salesperson led us to believe that the offer was reasonable and there was room to move on the price. The sales manager came back to us with a full price counter offer. The salesperson said we should make another higher offer, which we did (moved up $500) and the manager, Andrew Scott, I believe, came back again with a full offer. We asked to speak with the manger and when he came to talk with us he was very indifferent to our surprise that there was no room for negotiation. Performance Mazda does not advertise that they don't negotiate and the salesperson seemed very surprised that there was no negotiation. When I asked Andrew why he didn't tell his salesperson there was no room for negotiation, he said that it was there job to get offers and his to set the price. What is the 50's with sneaky sales tactics. After spending more than an hour on two occaisions we were upset to have been led on falsely and by the smug attitude of the manager who couldn't stop smiling at us for being upset. I will never return to this dealership and would recommend others to find another Mazda dealer, there are several others in the city. More

It was recommended to me because my sister and her boyfriend go there for service on their Mazdas and have been very happy with the Service Dep't. Roxanne was very nice on the phone. I spoke with Luciano. Right away I felt comfortable, like he was on my side. It didn't feel like he was just there to sell me something. He gave me really good advice and explained to me, in easy to understand terms, how the trade-in process works, since I was unfamiliar. He ran the numbers for me with no obligation just to see what I was looking at. It turned out that I wasn't able to get a car this time sadly, but I know exactly where I will go for my next car! These people know what customer service is all about :) More

Warranty service I brought my vehicle to Performance Mazda for scheduled maintenance. At this time I wanted them to look at an issue with my rear seat which rendered I brought my vehicle to Performance Mazda for scheduled maintenance. At this time I wanted them to look at an issue with my rear seat which rendered it inoperable. I also noticed small holes in the carpeting of the cargo area. I showed both issues to the service tech. Following the appointment I was notified that the carpeting would not be fixed as I punctured it and that the rear seat would only be fixed because it was inoperable. The service technician said I bent the seat therefore they don't have to fix it. This frustrated me, I take care of my vehicles. I only carried a 25 lb box, and it was the first time carried anything with the seats down (the car is only 6 months old). As for the holes in the carpet, a lightweight cardboard box should not cause this damage, I was dissatisfied and frustrated following the discussion with the service technician so I decided to contact Mazda Canada to have them assess the carpet issue. The Performance Mazda service tech said I would be notified in a few days when the seat came in and that they would call to book the appointment, After 1 week I had not heard so I phoned (multiple times) and showed up in person to see if the replacement seat was in. I could not get an answer and was told each time that someone would call me...they did not. After being frustrated by the unnecessary delays I posted a message on this forum hoping to get their attention (this message has replaced my original posting). Within a day or so I received a call from Dave and a response from Andy. They expressed their disappointment with the service I received and wanted to resolve the issues. Dave made sure the replacement part was ordered right away and called me back to book the appointment. Dave also had the holes in the cargo carpeting fixed. Thank you so much Dave for taking these issues seriously and for resolving them. I love my CX-5 and I want to keep in in great shape for all the years I will have it. After some frustrating weeks, Performance Mazda came through in the end and resolved the issues in both a professional and timely manner. It's too bad it had to go to the level of service manager/general manager to get it done. Unfortunately this and previous problems at this dealership has resulted in my decision to go elsewhere for service. For these reasons I can't say I recommend this dealership but I am very happy the issues were resolved in the end. More
