Upon arrival we were met at the door by a salesman Basil who introduced himself as a senior sales rep. We explained why we were there and what the vehicle requirements were and the maximum budget. We asked about the vehicle on the webpage and Basil told us that it was sold. Basel said we would not find many vehicles which match these requirements. He suggested my friend looks at something more expensive. My friend explained that there was a maximum budget and did not want to finance any part of a vehicle. Basel pushed to find out why. My friend explained that with financing you need collision insurance which cost a lot after having an accident. Basil asked if I could but my friend under my insurance. I asked why would I put someone who is not family and does not live with me under my insurance. He looked to see if there was anything else they had that would meet our requirements. He said he had one other vehicle in the back but we could not test drive it. Basil said that he tried to start it the other day and it needs a new battery. The vehicle also needed to have an mechanical assessment done. Another red flag. This vehicle was on the web page why it did not already have the mechanical assessment done? Why would it take several days to put a battery in it. We walked to the back lot to look at it anyways. It looked ok and Basil suggested that we do a deal with conditions of a test drive and review of mechanical assessment. My friend liked the vehicle so we agreed to write it up. While looking at the paperwork we noticed that the vehicle was a front wheel drive. My friend wants an all wheel drive and told Basil that this vehicle would not work. Basil went into full salesman mode stating that a front wheel drive vehicle with winter tires was just as good if not better than an all wheel drive with all season tires. I told my friend that if you want to compare apples to apples, and all wheel drive with winter tires is better than a front wheel drive with winter tires. Basil kept insisting that front wheel drive with winter tires was just as good as all wheel drive with all season. My friend asked what I would do. I told my friend that if they can get the price all in to meet the budget then make the deal. Basil said that he should be able to make this work. Basil went to the sales manager, came back and said he needed the paper work filled out before they can give the final price. My friend filled out the paper work, Basil took it to the sales manager and when he brought it back the total price was almost $4000.00 over my friends budget. We asked what were all the costs. Basil explained that they added GST a $10.00 AMVIC fee. $800.00 administration fee and a mandatory $1800.00 protection package which would cover paint scuffs damaged tires etc. I got upset at this stating that my friend could not afford that. Basil said he could work the numbers and explained that the package was a good thing and asked me if I did not fee the same. I told him that the package was a waste of money. Basil asked if he removed the package could we make a deal. I said the final price had to be within my friends budget. Basil said he could work the numbers but then asked how much above the budget could we go. I said that this is not working out and stood up. Basil claimed that we did not give him the chance to work the numbers. I asked him if he can get the price to match the budget? If not, we are wasting each others time. He said he would see what he could do. The sales manager came over to see if he could help. I asked if they can get the price to meet the budget, he said no. A lot of waisted time for nothing. The hidden fees are a joke. More

I had a very negative experience at North Edmonton Kia. I was told I wouldn’t get a better deal anywhere else and assured that I could get my deposit back if I decided not to purchase. The price they quoted me was much higher than MSRP, which didn’t sit right with me. I decided to check with another Kia dealership, and I’m glad I did—the price there was significantly lower and saved me $8,000 over the 4-year loan term. When I went back to North Edmonton Kia to ask for my deposit back, they refused to return it. The manager’s response was to offer me a longer loan term instead of acknowledging that I couldn’t afford the car. That felt manipulative and dishonest. This is bad business and bad service. I felt pressured, misled, and taken advantage of. Do not trust the manager. Do not trust this dealership. More

Kia – Still No Resolution After spending a long time researching which car to buy and where to buy it from, I finally decided to go with North Kia. Initially, everything seemed good and as expected. I wasn’t planning to buy a car on the same day, but I did—hoping I was making the right choice. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. When I picked up the vehicle in the evening, I took the key and asked for the second key I had been told I would receive the next day. The following day, after returning to the dealership, I learned that the car actually ONLY comes with one key, something no one had mentioned during the purchase process. On top of that, I discovered the car had no block heater—which is shocking for a car in Alberta—and there were several damages, including one very obvious one that should have been pointed out from the start. When I brought these issues to Bass, he told me to go to service to have them checked. I was again told there was only one key, despite being told I would receive the second key the next day. When I spoke to the Finance Manager, Dana, she completely changed her words and said, “I said that if I have the key, we will give it to you.” I was stunned. She said she would try to figure something out and get back to me, but I have never heard from her again. I booked an appointment with the service department. The service manager, Raj Toor, who once emailed me with the subject line “YOUR SATISFACTION IS OUR PRIORITY,” inspected the damage and agreed it needed to be replaced. He said the Sales Manager (apparently the busiest person on Earth) would contact me. I followed up multiple times, but Raj eventually stopped replying entirely. I tried calling Bass—no answer. I contacted Dana again—she repeated that Mike, the Sales Manager, would call me. To this day, he has never contacted me. The funny part? Every time you ask them about an issue with your Certified Pre-Owned car, they remind you that it’s not brand new—as if that excuses poor communication, missing items, false promises, and lack of transparency. I still paid a large amount of my hard-earned money and expected honesty, respect, and proper service. Instead, the after-sales experience has been absolutely disastrous. I can’t even express how disappointed I am. To this day, NO ONE from North Kia—Mike, Raj, or Dana—has bothered to call me back. Truly shameful customer service. I am still waiting. More

Be very careful and look very closely at the paper work before signing anything they will charge you more then you agree to. Staff was jumping running dancing around very very unprofessional. Also moved my seat in my car and left my glove box open and papers on my seat. More

My wife and 74 year old parents took a drive out to this dealership hoping to look at the Kia EV9. We arrived and were promptly greeted by Adriano who ushered us to his desk. He was unable/unwilling to show us the EV9 until we first filled out some paperwork even though we made it clear that we were not test driving today, just looking at the interior. I asked the relevance of asking for my driving license and personal details to first look at the car and was told that the manager insists that to show the car they need to do a credit beaureau check. Warning flag 1. Again I said that we were not buying today, not even test driving, we just needed to see if our dogs might fit in the truck with the seats folded. We were told that we would need to fill it out to look. I wanted to stand up and walk out at this as no other dealer has requested us to fill out paper work just to open a door of a car on the showroom floor. In the end regretfully we filled out paper work and were asked to wait. We waited. 15-20 minutes for the sales manager, clearly at the desk chatting with another sales associate to come back. The sales manager needs to grant permission to bring the car around from the back for us to view. I asked if they might tell me if it was going to take much longer to bring the car around to view as I have other appointments this afternoon and we had been waiting 20 mins at this point in a very quiet dealership with lots of staff on their phones and chatting with each other. I was told that the EV9 was on its way around. My 74 year old mom, waiting still with me decided to look at another car, open the door and proceed to sit in. At this point the floor sales manager shouted over at her “if you open it, you bought it”. Probably just a joke but I thought it was a little rude to an elderly lady just looking at the car that he had never spoken to before. Meanwhile Adriano our sales guy came back over to ask us to meet him outside and he’d be back around with the car. We waited. Waited some more. Eventually he popped out to say sorry but the manager had taken the car out and it wasn’t available, he was very sorry. Warning flag 3 and 4. This is some of the worst buying experience I’ve had in any dealership. I found it dishonest and disrespectful of our time not to simply say upfront “sorry but the car isn’t available do you mind coming back another day?”. Instead they had us fill out meaningless paperwork that no other dealer expects you to fill out just to open the doors of any of the cars on the showroom floor. Insane. Would not recommend this dealer. Run a mile if you value your time and want to be treated with respect (particularly elderly folks looking to buy). As a final thing, they have techno music playing on blast on the showroom floor. Very hard to have a conversation with the music cranked so loud. More

My wife and I both purchased Kia Sportages from North Edmonton Kia. We had nothing but incredible service from their whole team. Our Salesman Yaroslav was just Excellent. We couldn’t have had any better experience as we did with Yaroslav. He was extremely Professional, Knowledgeable and kind. We were never rushed out pushed into anything. He took the time to answer all of our questions, and showed us how everything worked, before we left with our SUV’s. We had 2 different finance people, Mike and Alessandro, and they did everything they could do to find us the best rates. Very professional and they were both working for us to make sure we left happy. The Sales Manager Mike has done an outstanding job on working with the people that work with him to make the dealership as Great as we both thought they were to us. We both definitely recommend Yaroslav to anybody looking for a new or used Vehicle. He will definitely set you at ease. More

DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP, OR GIVE A DEPOSIT BY ANY MEANS! We went looking for a trade in on a car and was offered a Sportage LX when we were told they couldn't make it work on a Sorento. We at firs MEANS! We went looking for a trade in on a car and was offered a Sportage LX when we were told they couldn't make it work on a Sorento. We at first said no because it didn't have the features my wife's car had. They gave us an option on a Sportage X-Line 2mins after we said no. Told them we would come and see it after work. When we got there they said the vehicle hadn't been delivered yet but they would let us test drive the original Sportage we said no to. Wife had said no at first and then made us drive an EX model trying to wow her with the features. Be sparkled eyed she said yes. We then made a $500 deposit then brought to the salespersons desk named Phillpe (Phil). He had us sign the deal paperwork and then placed a forum in front and checked a box that said non-refundable. Before this all went down I turned my voice record on my phone. I looked at him and said, "Does this mean my deposit is forfeited?", He than said, "Only if you are searching for another vehicle because we made this deal and are waiting for the car to arrive, because the trucks are frozen right now." (Seeing that it was -32 degrees.) I than said, "So for any financial reason or if that we find it doesn't work financially for us we can get our deposit back?" He than replied, "Yes of course, it's just meant that you're not allowed to search for another deal while this one is undergoing. Not that you will find a better deal than this car I can promise you that." So we signed the paper work and went to finance to deal with quick info to see if we were approved. The next day after doing research we found it wasn't feasible for us. So we backed out from the deal. The next day Billy (Sales Manager) called me and said, "Am I willing to walk away from my deposit if I don't take the deal?", I said, "That's not what I told." Billy then replied saying never in history has a deposit been returned. Obviously they think this is people's first time and are not informed. Later that day I went to the store, climbed onto the front step in front of Billies' desk, and asked, "Why are you wanting to steal my money?"" They asked me to keep my voice down because they have customers and said I was yelling. But, I was just being stern and told them their customers deserve to know they shady people they're dealing with, and I will start yelling if they want me to. Then the General Manager Becker, came out and escorted me to his office after one of the Sales Managers threatened to call the police because I refused to leave without my money. He than told me I am locked into contract when no official final paperwork was signed. Just a deal agreement. He than proceeded to ask me what changed in the deal and I flat out told him financially was a good idea. He told me to think about how I can make the deal work and shop for insurance. I asked and what if I can't. He said, "well you know you can't get your money back. I have a signed forum here." Knowing I wouldn't get anywhere talking to him I appeased him and said I will be in contact. I am in contact with AMVIC now and I am going to be in contact with someone at CBC because they said this isn't the first time they heard this. I recently purchased a vehicle from North Edmonton Kia dealership, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I highly recommend having any vehicle you purchase thoroughly inspected by an in dealership, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I highly recommend having any vehicle you purchase thoroughly inspected by an independent mechanic before finalizing the deal. First, the vehicle’s carbon air filter was filthy—something I would expect to be addressed in a proper inspection. Worse, I found a pack of cigarettes hidden behind the glove box in the vehicle, which felt unprofessional. Additionally, the air filter was dirty, there was water inside the passenger door panel, coffee and water stains throughout the interior, and crumbs scattered everywhere. Clearly, the detailing service was subpar, and when I questioned the service fee, they were unwilling to negotiate or address the poor quality. What really broke my trust, however, was the tire inspection. I was told that the tires had passed their inspection, but when I looked closer, I found weather cracks and chunks missing from the tire tread—issues that are particularly concerning in Canadian weather. It’s hard to believe that they would allow a customer to drive away with tires in that condition, potentially putting my safety at risk. All they offered was $500 discount towards a new set of tires for $1,700. They wouldn’t cover the install fee. All in all, my experience left me feeling deceived and frustrated. I would suggest anyone buying from this dealership to be cautious and consider having the vehicle inspected outside of their service department. This was not the level of service or professionalism I expected. Please check the vehicle thoroughly if you are planning to purchase from this dealership. I will not purchase from this dealership again or recommend it. More
