1-Star Review – Port Hope Hyundai Our experience with Port Hope Hyundai regarding their “Platinum Shield Protection” warranty has been extremely frustrating and, frankly, unacceptable. When we first n Port Hope Hyundai regarding their “Platinum Shield Protection” warranty has been extremely frustrating and, frankly, unacceptable. When we first needed to use the warranty, it took over 6 months and repeated pressure from us to have the claim honored. What should have been routine turned into months of unnecessary stress and wasted time. Now we are facing a second issue that is even more concerning. The warranty states that if no claims are made, you can receive in-store credit for half of the warranty cost. We were very clear at the time of purchase that we drive over 40,000 km per year, and this was discussed openly. Our 2022 Ioniq 5 now has just over 160,000 km. When we attempted to claim this benefit, we were told, that the contract runs until 2030 (8 years) and if the vehicle exceeds 160,000 km, the benefit is no longer available This critical limitation was never disclosed to us at the time of purchase. Had it been, we would not have purchased the warranty, as it clearly does not suit high-mileage drivers. This situation raises serious concerns of: Misrepresentation Failure to disclose material terms and limitations We relied on the information provided to us when making this purchase, and the reality of the contract does not match what was presented. We are now in the position of having to pursue this further, including formal complaints and escalation, to have this addressed properly. I will be pursuing this through OMVIC and all available avenues, and will not be backing down until this is resolved appropriately. More

I went to Lauria Hyundai to purchase a new vehicle and I was greeted by Karl Zaman, one of the sales advisors at the dealer. He was very friendly and yet very professional.
