"Neglect"

I had two claims with MPI at the same time for 2 rear end accidents which totalled close to 55 % of the cars value. So I brought the car into the collision centre at subaru thinking they would be the best to fix the repairs. I had very high initial thoughts of the centre. They took my car in and gave an estimate of what they needed and then said they would be in contact once they were ready. That was the last time they were good. I had to request the estimate from them multiple times. They presented me with an original estimate without the additions that they sent to MPI. Then never explained to me what all the repairs were. I took the car to the service side of the building for unrelated work on the vehicle and they said I have suspension issues. I brought this up with the collision people and they said they would only take a look once they get the car up on the hoist and start the repairs. Meanwhile if these repairs were claim related then the vehicle would be a total loss. They took three days after giving the car back to them to check on these before they provided me with pictures without explanations as to what I was looking at in the pictures. I tried calling my adjuster about this and they agreed that the additional work was not claim related but they could still write the vehicle off if the work had not been started. It took three more days before the collision centre even called my adjuster back after she left messages. At that point they told her that 80-90% of the work was already done. They purposefully did not return any calls to myself or my adjuster so that they would get the work and keep their employees busy. Do not trust Jim Pattison subaru south. They will not listen to you. They will only look out for themselves.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We did reach out the adjuster that afternoon at 2pm (all documented), we did not hear back, and the adjuster went on vacation. We did not know about any rear suspension damage until we did a 150 point complimentary inspection. Our findings where reviewed with the service technician and determined that this was not related to the claim. We did put the vehicle on the hoist multiple times with photos taken at that time as well. MPI sets betterment rates, and we understand you are not happy about having to pay for new parts on your 2011, however this is out of our control. Vehicles through MPIC are not marginal until 75% damage, and your vehicle was not close to being a write off. We are still waiting to hear from you if you would like your old exhaust back on or the new one as per your claim. Regards. Kirk Cancilla General Manager

"Thoughtful and fair..."

I dealt with several of the Frontier staff, including my friendly salesperson Kani. I have to say, I am a weary car purchaser, I know very little about cars and I am forced to trust consumer reports. I am always looking for a reliable, fuel efficient vehicle at a good price. I think that the people at the Frontier dealership listened. Everyone from the front desk staff, to Mona in financing and Kirk, the GM, made me feel at ease. Thank you sincerely. You all deserve the compliment. I can't give you a 5 because I didn't get a block heater in my preowned vehicle. I had a premonition it wasn't there and sure enough, it's not! But, I think you were fair. "Great Service"

Thanks Sameer! After my Forester was written off I was in the market for another SUV. After visiting many dealerships I called Frontier. Luckily I was put through to Samee who assured me he'd track down a suitable option for me. When I arrived not only did he find another Forester but allowed me to take a loaner from the lot so I could return my rental vehicle while I waited for my next Forester to be ready. Great professional staff!

"Good at selling cars, not so good honouring warranty."

Second vehicle bought from Frontier in the span of three years. Loved their vehicles, had a Legacy for three years, over 80k kms, no problems. Upgraded to a WRX and 18 months later problems, you'd think they would want to help. They blame me for the broken car and tell me there is nothing they can do "Call Subaru Canada". I call Subaru Canada and they tell me "Call the dealership". What a run around! No ability for customers to get satisfaction when the Dealer can say what they want and not honour their own warranty. Be concerned if you ever need their help after purchase!! Won't even give out courtesy cars when bringing in vehicle for service. Horrible. Call other dealerships and repair shops and they are flabbergasted that Subaru will not honour their warranty. At this point I will never buy from them again.

Hello Mr. Metcalfe, I can understand your frustration regarding the situation, we are not putting any type of blame in the scenario – we are simply adhering to the Warranty obligations and guidelines as outlined in your Warranty and Maintenance booklet. Since the clutch is a wearable item, it is exempt from warranty consideration unless a manufacturing defect has caused premature failure. Subaru is more than willing to honor the warranty agreement if a defect is found, however if upon transmission removal and inspection no manufacturing defect is found, the resulting diagnostic and repair charges. I am sorry you feel this way, we cannot repair under warranty, as this is not a manufacturer defect. "Crap Service"

I began talking to a salesman online (Ryndel) everything was going fine. We had exchanged several emails and even talked to the financial manager. We worked out some deals. Thought all was well. Waited a week and no response or anything. Even after trying to inquire I still received no reply. All I was looking for was a simple yes or no answer. Nonetheless I grew tired and moved on and had purchased a vehicle from a different dealership. Poor customer service I will never do business again with any company under the Jimi Pattison Group.
