My 87 year old mother brought her 10 year old Nissan Rogue in to Hunt Club Nissan service department because she saw an emissions engine light on her dashboard. The technician ran a diagnostic procedure Rogue in to Hunt Club Nissan service department because she saw an emissions engine light on her dashboard. The technician ran a diagnostic procedure and provided a two page multi-point inspection form that showed they inspected the following items: Horn operation, headlights, left wiper, right wiper blade, tail lights, and tires. The "Under Vehicle" section of this diagnostic Multi-Point Inspection form nothing was checked (this included the muffler/exhaust/mountings). Still quite baffled how checking the horn and wipers was going to help determine an emissions engine light???? Anyways, on the second page of this "diagnostic" there were two additional items titled "Additional Service Recommendations" showing in red requiring “immediate attention”. The first was the Catalytic Converter Assembly - with Reason left blank and a photo beside it of the underneath of the car with no explanation. The second was the AF Sensor***** MAY REQUIRE IF SEIZE also with the specified reason left blank and the same photo of the underneath of her car also with no explanation. I fail to understand how the "Under Vehicle" section of this inspection report was left blank but then on page two it says the catalytic converter and sensor need to be replaced??? The estimate given to my mother for this work was over $4000! They scared her into thinking that the car was going to seize up and that this work needed to be done right away before a blinking light showed up. Needless to say we thought we better get a second opinion! We brought the car to a licensed mechanic that has been in business for 40 years. They looked at the catalytic converter and tested the sensor and determined that the catalytic converter was pristine but the sensor was a bit slow but could probably be corrected by driving the car more and using better gas. He would not in all good faith even think about replacing the catalytic converter! He also did not charge for the "diagnostic". When I called the Nissan Service team back to ask why they thought the catalytic converter needed to be replaced they said that it was clogged with carbon deposits etc. (which I don't believe to be true). They never mentioned anything about more mileage and better gas may be able to resolve the issue. They automatically went straight to replace the whole thing for 4 grand! Needless to say, we cancelled the appointment to have the catalytic converter replaced with Nissan. We then received a call that we needed to pay for the diagnostic which was totally expected and we had no problem with (even though we never asked for the wiper blades and horn to be checked!). However, on the original estimate the diagnostic fee was $159.99 but the service guy said that was incorrect and that invoice was supposed to be for 179.99 plus tax. He then said we could pay this online and proceeded to send me a bill for over 300$. When I called to question this he said that his system showed a lower invoice amount and that I must be mistaken. He finally sent another final bill for $203.39. I guess that 300$ one was just one final attempt at getting an extra $100 out of us. This is the second bad experience I have had with this dealership service department. The first one was with an old vehicle I had where the brakes were making a funny noise so I asked for a brake inspection NOT a service. I specifically asked for (and wrote down on the envelope when I dropped off my keys) a brake inspection and that I be called if anything needed to be done. Well, they went ahead and did a full brake service then wanted me to pay over 400$ for their mistake! Highly do not recommend this service centre. Go to a licensed, honest mechanic and save your money! More
We went in for a service after my check engine light came on and was notified by the app to take it in for maintenance. When we did, it turned out to have nothing wrong with it but was charged $200 for a dia on and was notified by the app to take it in for maintenance. When we did, it turned out to have nothing wrong with it but was charged $200 for a diagnostic check that wasn't covered under warranty because nothing was wrong with it. On top of that, I was given an estimate of 180 incl taxes and was charged 200$. How I was charged extra after an estimate had been given is beyond me More

New Nissan and was quoted $1300 for regular maintenance. Explained I’m under warranty but still for regular maintenance came out to $800. I paid and whatnot and wouldn’t have written a review if not for the rude man who checked me out. He told me the total was $800 and I sighed. I did not realize my sigh would offend this man so deeply! He responded, what’s your problem? I explained, you know $800 is not a small amount of money. He went on to berate me, saying “well we did so much for you what do you expect”. Sir I’m going to pay? You don’t need to be so condescending and rude over a simple sigh? It was as though I had said something awful about his family. You need to breathe my dude it was a sigh More
