I have bought new cars before but have never been as impressed with the whole procedure as I was this time. We have been dealing with Andy Lancaster for many years. Since he has been at Oceanside Chev Olds in Parksville, B.C. we have purchased two Buick Enclasves 2010 and 2012. For example: our last Buick purchase totally beat our expectations as I have been suffering with health issues and Andy and Richard delivered our new car and picked up the two vehicles (one being an almost new Cruze LT that we also purchased at Oceanside). After a good experience last January when we were shopping for a new commuter car, we stopped in at Harris Chevrolet this past October looking to up size our family car. Mark was great and in no time shopping for a new commuter car, we stopped in at Harris Chevrolet this past October looking to up size our family car. Mark was great and in no time got us into a 2005 Caravan that fit the bill. We knew going in that it would likely cost us more thru Harris than if we bought a car privately but with the convenience of being able to trade in our older wagon and with features like the Car Proof Report and Vehicle Safety Inspection it seemed well worth it. Unfortunately, on top of the expected list of deficiencies we also found out after an at times white knuckle drive to Tofino that the vehicles brake rotors were shot. After checking with Harris we were advised that nothing would be done even though the brakes were clearly a safety issue that would need to be repaired right away. Our advice to you: When buying a used vehicle from Harris and they tell you that "You are welcome to take this vehicle, at your own expense, directly to your own 'certified facility' for a pre-purchase inspection", I suggest you do it as the included Safety Report is nearly worthless. If our minivan before it was repaired "meets or exceeds the minimum requirements of the Motor Vehicle Act" as claimed by the Safety Report from Harris then the Motor Vehicle Act needs to be either updated or tossed out completely. The bottom line: We are enjoying our minivan even though it has already and will likely again cost us more than expected, and in roughly 4 1/2 - 5 years time when we go to purchase a brand new minivan to replace this one it will likely NOT be at Harris Oceanside Chevrolet. All for the sake of about $200. Mike and Mary More

When Ryan suggested leasing I became interested because it provides me with little to be reponsible for in the ongoing upkeep and the option of keeping the vehicle or returning it after three years, depending on the situation at thet time. My objectives were to get the new vehicle without exhaustive searching so am not well able to comment on the relatiove merits of the cost of the lease, which seemed fair to me as presented by Ryan. Ryan and all the staff I met were courteous and helpful, demonstrating competency in their jobs. I am pleased with the car and look forward to much trouble-free driving. All in all they made what can be a stressful experience for someone such as myself about as easy as it gets. I have no problem in giving them my unqualified recommendation to prospective future customers. More
