Looking at its history, with the experience we have with cars, we knew the battery needed to be replaced. On the offer, we specified, in writing, that we would buy it IF the battery was replaced. They did not. But claimed they had. Or if they did, they put in a used one. It died. Up north. Which was exactly why we wanted the new battery, and had told them so when specifying we needed the new battery . We had the battery tested before returning to Goauto, and it was confirmed this was a dying battery ( we had to put a different one in just to get it there). Went to the dealership, and we're told no, not going to do anything for you, it is cold, cars don't start in the cold, etc. Never mind the fact it was stored in a warm workshop, had been on a charger to try to recharge it (which failed), and the battery test showed the battery to be old and dying. Stay away. More
Worst experience of my life (Jan 28) Worst experience of my life. Started off dealing with George who pawned me off on Alex. Made me drive an hour and a half to come in to a vehi (Jan 28) Worst experience of my life. Started off dealing with George who pawned me off on Alex. Made me drive an hour and a half to come in to a vehicle I told them I didn’t want. About 2 hours later finally in a vehicle that could work. About 2 hours later driving home a mini van. Next day getting multiple texts from Alex demanding paper work he never told me he needed to complete the cash back portion of the deal. His favourite line is that he does this every day so he just assumed I know. Never once asked for such paper work while I was there. After trying to get him paper work he is demanding he never even gave me the correct information to get this paper work. Finally all paper work is in 2 days later. 5 days after purchasing vehicle something goes wrong with possibly the transmission there was a massive sound I felt it slip in the peddle and the vehicle stopped changing gear. RPM were on red line after 80km. When dealership is called they expected me to drive it an hour and a half on the highway with my kids so they could look at it. It was already quickly looked at my local licensed mechanic who advised me not to drive it as it will just ruin the engine more and it needs to get into a shop ASAP. After heated conversations the decision was made that they would send a loner vehicle and a tow truck to me so they can look at the vehicle. That evening a loner vehicle showed up. But no tow truck. The driver was expected to drive back to Leduc with a van with a possible major transmission problem. The driver was driving back to Leduc doing 50km/hour. He confirmed in writing the same problems I was experiencing. When the service department looked at the vehicle the answer was there was nothing wrong with it. Stay tuned!! And that’s just the last 8 days! Stay tuned! (Jan 29 morning) So just received a call from George, saying Mike was right beside him and they are said service is going to stop working on my busted vehicle because of this review!! AMVIC has been notified of my experiences now and when I told Mike and George that there exact words were they don’t care, I can go to the Prime Minister of Canada for all they care!! finance company advised me not to pick up my busted vehicle... Stay tuned!! Also love the fact that Mike responded to this post! He was the one that was sending the loner vehicle and tow truck and only a loner vehicle showed up!! He knows my phone number if he actually wanted to resolve this, but putting that comment on here might make the world think he is actually trying to resolve it when he is holding my vehicle from being fixed until I remove this post!!! Sorry buddy freedom of speech and everything I have posted is 100% true! I have it all in writing as these so called “professionals” think texting is an appropriate form of communication for customers! STAY TUNED!! (Jan 29 afternoon) George calls back, for the first time since this whole deal started, spike with out confrontation in his voice. Saying the deal has been bad, and he will continue to fix the vehicle and get this over with but I need to remove the review. I said that’s fine I will do that. That night I can’t figure out how to remove the post permanently so I remove only what I wrote which still leaves the one star rating. I then receive a call from service saying they ordered a new sensor for the speed shift changer. Will be here tomorrow and hopefully be fixed. (Jan 30 afternoon) received call from service stating they fixed the shift speed sensor in the mini van took it for a long test drive and the issue seems to be gone and vehicle is shifting correctly. I say great I will be there after work about 5:30 to take it for a test drive with an employee from there to ensure it is in fact fixed. She informs me that sales could drive with me so I have till 9. George calls saying no one can drive with me except a technician so I need to be there before 5. He also says my one star rating is still on review and if I don’t remove it, I am responsible for paying for the work they have done. So I change the rating to 5 so I can get my free work done as promised. Receive a phone call from service, (p.s I’m a teacher and all these calls are coming to me while I’m working) she is also now saying if I want a test drive it needs to be with a technician so I need to be there by 5. I live over an hour away. So I drop everything for my Math 6 class, find coverage, run around get kids from day care and to another baby sitter. And drive the loner vehicle to Leduc. Arrive at dealership, before going to service I go to reception for my cash back cheque. I tell her my name she hands me a cheque. I asked her if I needed to sign anything she said no. She also never asked me for ID and sent me on my way with thousands of dollars! Go to service. Was confronted from Leigh Ann saying I didn’t need to talk to her the way I did and Mike wants to talk to me before I leave. I apologize as she is only the one that told me there is nothing wrong with my obviously broken vehicle but she didn’t feel that was appropriate so whatever sorry Leigh Ann. If your sales people weren’t such a joke the conversations would have been a lot better. I then take my van for a test drive with a technician. On highway the problem seems to be resolved. It was a very short drive but it was obviously not doing what it was doing before. Go back to dealership. Meet Mike for the first time. I give him back him loner vehicle. He try’s to get my cheque I tell him I already have it and he says O.K. And that was the end of the conversation. I left with my purchased mini van. Thanks for the deal Mike, no apology, no hand shake, no nothing. I also walked away from this deal with ONLY a bill of sale as paper work. During heated conversations I demanded a copy of all signed papers (Alex told me I would get them when I picked up my cheque when actual deal was being signed) so because I demanded them they scanned and emailed them to me. I never received any print up of any work that was done during service. No proof they actually replaced anything except the problem seems solved. Don’t expect after service. Salesman was decent but the management is just there for the paycheque. One small issue with our vehicle and they told us to get bent. Never again. Darin wanted the best deal for us, went above and beyond to get us into the car we wanted. Darin even drove the vehicle we purchased from Leduc to the North side of Edmonton to drop it off at hour place for us. I would go back and get a second car from him! More
Service Department Falsified Mechanical Inspection The sales staff seemed to be good, but the service department I wouldn't trust at all due to a falsified mechanical inspection . When I went to test The sales staff seemed to be good, but the service department I wouldn't trust at all due to a falsified mechanical inspection . When I went to test drive the car I asked to see the mechanical inspection and the salesman told me they didn't have it yet but if I was interested in the car that they would have it done the following day. I went back in late the next day and they showed me the inspection. There seemed to be no serious issues they had to fix so I proceeded and bought the car. After 32 days of owning the vehicle (I only drove it for 12 of those days as I went on vacation and it was parked in my garage most of the time and NO oil or other fluids had ever leaked on my floor) the check engine light came on, I checked the oil and there was no oil at all on the dip stick. I took it to a local mechanic that same day and they did an oil change and told me all the other fluids were a bit low and very dirty and how would recommend changing them ASAP, the air filter was completely clogged and a few other minor things (I trust this guy he does all my auto work). I decided not to do the other fluids that day and contacted GoAuto the next morning and the girl at the service desk (I think her name was Leanne) who talked to the general manager and said they would not pay for my oil change that the other place did (she also questioned why I did not bring it to them as they do the first oil change for free, which I was never made aware of), they would also not complete any other fluid changes unless I paid them for it, as for the check engine light they said they could diagnose the problem but I would have to pay a diagnostic fee. I told her this was not suitable for me and I asked if she could forward me to the general manager but I was told he was away that day so she would send him an email asking him to call me, I left more messages thru that week and the next. That was two weeks ago when the problem started and still no call back yet. In my impression they have falsified the mechanical inspection as they said all these fluids were changed on that service but I don't think you totally run out of oil and contaminate the other fluids that much by driving it for about 12 days out of the month and there being no signs of a leak in my garage or designated parking spot at work. I know I should have checked the oil sooner but I figured I would be okay for a bit longer, my mistake in trusting there service department. More
Wasted my time I sent a message to the dealership asking if a vehicle was still available and they responded in a reasonable time frame. After confirming the vehicle I sent a message to the dealership asking if a vehicle was still available and they responded in a reasonable time frame. After confirming the vehicle was available we set a time for viewing. They reconfirmed the next day before the appointment I was coming and I received another email from my salesperson confirming. I made my way there and arrived at the correct time and found out it had been sold. I understand things sell but it had been sold days before my inquiries and they didn't have the consideration of really insuring it was still available. I will never even walk into any Go auto ever again. I won't waste my time with non perfessional companies. More
