Thank you for the feedback on your experience with my staff in our service department, however I feel I must address this matter with all the facts. On February 27 at 1:00 pm your friend entered our establishment and dropped off your vehicle for a repair to the backup camera. We took down your contact information from this person and compared it to what was on file from Chrysler Canada back when you purchased your vehicle, being that the information was the same your friend had given us we did not feel like it was an issue. We ordered the proper part the job needed and called you several times that same day to get approval on the repair and to give you an update. We cannot confirm or do anything on a vehicle without the owners authorization. We did not reach you as your friend did not give us the alternate contact information to do so. It’s unfortunate that there was miscommunication and you were unhappy with an error that was clearly out of our hands as the wrong contact info was given to us by you, the customer. At Edson Chrysler we take our customer service very seriously, I just do not know what more we could have done in this situation. Firstly, allow me to clarify that it was in fact my husband that dropped my truck off to your dealership. My husband advises me that at no time did one of your staff ask him anything, therefore your first paragraph is incorrect. He did advise your staff that he was dropping the truck off on my behalf and that was the end of the conversation. I confirm that the appointment arranged to have my truck looked at was indeed 1:00 p.m. However, at approximately 4:45 p.m. (nearly 4 hours from the original appointment time) when I contacted the service department, Bryan (very pleasant by the way) advised that they hadn't even brought it into the shop to look at it and that someone would get back to me that evening to advise if they required a part or not. At no time during any of the conversations was I asked to provide any contact information. I was also advised that should a part be required that it would most likely have to be ordered, in which case I could then pick up the truck and have it installed when the part arrived at a later date. Clearly this was not a miscommunication in any sense of the word. Perhaps, instead of being so quick to place the blame on the customer you may consider the fact that it was in fact your staff that failed to update the information. I did receive an email the next day advising me that your dealership was unable to contact me. Why was an email not sent the day before if this was an issue, why wait until the next day to send an email? The outcome could have been a much different one. You state there is nothing more you could have done when in fact there is more you could have done and in my opinion an apology would have gone a long way in this situation. The request for updated contact information could have been requested politely instead of having Denis yell at me on the phone at the same time talking over me. I would have gladly provided this information. The point is that this whole situation could have been avoided had it been approached with a more professional and polite manner. I realize you feel the need to defend your employee however, I as a customer and a human being felt the need to set the record straight. As this was a horrible experience that I would rather soon forget, I would appreciate it if you would no longer contact me for any reason.
