Awful Customer Service -- how he treats a single woman! PLEASE READ AND SHARE REGARDING DARTMOUTH DODGE: I recently was in the market to purchase a new SUV. After going to several dealerships in the HRM PLEASE READ AND SHARE REGARDING DARTMOUTH DODGE: I recently was in the market to purchase a new SUV. After going to several dealerships in the HRM I decided to purchase a 2016 jeep Cherokee North from Dartmouth Dodge. I spent 4 hours dealing with the sales associate over 2 days to negotiate a deal I was comfortable with and I thought they were as well. The manager agreed to all the terms or so I thought. I scheduled an appointment to pick up the vehicle and to my knowledge we were all set! As I walked into the dealership I was met by the sales associate who began to discuss the conditions of the warranty that I was paying extra for. I stated the terms we discussed and he left for 10 -15 minutes. He came back to ask me how many kms/year I drive. I told him at this point it didn't matter I wanted the warranty that was negotiated. He left again and about 10 mins later the manager Sid Skeffington came back and very sweetly told me he was there to re negotiate the terms of the warranty. I frankly and admittedly not politely told him I would not be "re negotiating" as if I chose to re negotiate at this point Chrysler wouldn't hear of it and I wanted the warranty that was agreed on. At this point Mr. Skeffington became angry and rudely stated that how a negotiation works is I am to sit, listen and be quiet while he speaks. Again I told him I was not there to negotiate and I wanted the terms we agreed upon. Mr. Skeffington stood up and told me he didn't care if I walked then and my business was not needed. I told him I had 2 vehicles pending on this deal and asked if he was going to let me walk. He said negotiating was done and if I wanted to walk then to do so. I told him I wanted my deposit which he rudely stated I would get it. I told him I wanted it now. He yelled to the sales associate to get it for me and walked away and was never seen or heard from again. I had 3 people apologize on his behalf for the way he spoke to me and for getting involved at this point and suggest he be reported. I am yet to hear from him or the owner. It is truly my belief the negotiation that was approved by this manager was not giving Dartmouth Dodge the profit they usually get and the manager planned to nicely sweet talk into renegotiating and when it didn't work he became ugly with the intention of making me walk. Well it definitely worked and at this point it doesn't have to do with the vehicle but the actual way a manager treats a customer or a man treats a woman in the "car world." More

If you are like me, you really enjoy taking possession of your new car, but the process from the time you first walk in the door to signing off on a p If you are like me, you really enjoy taking possession of your new car, but the process from the time you first walk in the door to signing off on a purchase is not something you look forward to. Last year our family took a huge leap and purchased a Grand Cherokee after having been a 2-car Honda family since 1982. We wanted a true SUV deisel and that led us to our choice. Our Sales Consultant at the time, Wayne Cobb, actually made that dreaded buying experience pleasant, which you might think is understated, but for me it represented a huge improvement from past experiences. He said we wouldn't regret our choice and we haven't (it's the only vehicle we have ever owned that I use the word "love" when I talk about it). As good as all our vehicles have been in the past, the Grand Cherokee evokes the feeling of supreme satisfaction every time I hop in and go. He also said you will find that this dealership will take care of you by always going the extra mile to ensure your needs are fully met because their focus is on customer satisfaction. In the 16 months since our purchase of the Grand Cherokee, I can attest to the fact that where something merited attention from my perspective, the dealership was not only quick to respond, but on non-routine matters, always exceeded my expectations. So, fast forward to October 2016. My wife's CRV is beginning to show its age. It should come as no surprise, based on what I have just said, that the first thing I did was to drop by to see Wayne. We worked together for a few weeks to find the right fit for my wife, which ultimately was a Jeep Cherokee High Altitude. I told him up front that a decision to purchase wasn't a certainty, but we wanted to look at our options. Unfazed by the possibility of not making a sale, Wayne was terrific and generous with his time. There was no pressure at any point. Because the 2017s were starting to come in and we were looking for a 2016, locating options took more effort which Wayne happily did for us. He also patiently responded to my queries and requests, offered some valuable insights and did it all with a sense of humour and in a sincere effort to ensure that whether we purchased or not, he did all that he could to support us in our decision-making. Knowing who you are buying from is just as important to me as knowing about what I am buying and Wayne left my wife and I both feeling extremely good, again, about who we were buying from. As an aside, whenever my wife or I am in the dealership, if Wayne spots us he always calls us by name and makes the effort to check in on how we were doing in general and with the vehicle. It's the personal touch and we appreciated it. If what I have just told you resonates, I urge you to consider giving Wayne the opportunity to help you in the superb manner in which he has helped us over the course of two purchases. I also would like to acknowledge J.R. Kelly, the Business Manager we dealt with for the second time. He did an exceptional job of walking us through options, disclosing things to consider, and ushering through the signing process. Just like Wayne, J.R. never rushed or pressured us, patiently answered every question and seemed genuinely concerned that our experience with him be a very positive one. It was an easy decision to return to Dartmouth Dodge for our second Jeep purchase based on our previous experience and Wayne and JR's efforts this time only reinforced the deep sense of satisfaction we have felt since our first Jeep purchase. My first contact with Louis was by email about 5 months ago when I responded to an internet advertisement on a gasoline Ram 1500 Longhorn which I decided to pass on because it was not exactly what I wanted to drive for the next 6-8 years. I did not meet Louis at that time but I told him by email that I was looking for a low mileage, well cared for Ram 1500 Longhorn ecodiesel with all the "bells and whistles" and definitely a sunroof. So about 5 months passed by during which time I kept searching without success and then out of the blue I got an email from Louis who by now I had almost forgotten about; he had found the truck for me. I had almost given up on trying to find one of these very scarce low mileage pre-owned Ram 1500 ecodiesel Longhorns, but Louis had found one and remembered me after all that time: how good is that. The truck he found for me was exactly what I ask for. He was very friendly and courteous when we went to the dealership to view and test drive the truck, it was obvious he wanted me to snap this truck up because he said and I totally believed him; it won't last long. He explained the many superb features of the Longhorn very well and gave us an all round tour of the vehicle and accompanied us on a test drive through city streets and on the highway. He introduced us to his manager, Gary, and finance professional J.R. who were equally impressive and friendly. So I purchased that truck and I must say that I have been delighted so far and have received many great compliments on the vehicle. My searching is over and I got exactly what I wanted and I have Louis to thank for that; thank you very much Louis. In my opinion you have a bright future ahead; personality plus and working on a business degree that will undoubtedly serve you well. Like I said the best car buying experience I ever had and I am now a senior citizen so I have been down this road a few times in my life so far. In fact this truck was supposed to be my 65th birthday gift to myself way back in July; so a little late but still a great gift, don't ya think? Thanks again, Louis. More
