We have thoroughly reviewed your concerns, along with the vehicle history and all documentation recorded at each visit. Based on the evidence available, we must clarify the following: 1. Windshield Condition Prior to Arrival We have clear, time stamped photographs showing the windshield damage existed before the vehicle arrived at our dealership. In addition, the front of your vehicle is visibly covered in rock chips consistent with normal highway driving in Alberta. At no point while in our care did the vehicle experience any incident that could have caused a new chip or crack. 2. No Mechanical Concerns Requiring a Road Test During your most recent visit, there were no issues or symptoms present that required a road test. Without a road test or any warning indicators, there is no situation in which a rock chip could have occurred while in our possession. The vehicle’s diagnostic data also shows no faults or abnormalities, and the 12V system was operating normally at the time of inspection. 3. Vehicle Usage The vehicle has accumulated approximately 30,000 km in one year with no repeatable symptoms or concerns documented during your service visits. This further supports that there was no ongoing mechanical issue that would have caused the vehicle to become inoperable. 4. Frozen Door Lock The concern during the most recent visit was a frozen door lock, which is a common weather-related occurrence in Alberta. This can typically be resolved quickly with basic de-icing methods used by most drivers during winter conditions. There was no mechanical failure related to this issue, and no defect found during inspection. 5. Tow and Resource Use Due to extreme weather conditions on that day, unnecessary towing tied up resources for both the towing provider and our team. No defect was found on the vehicle that required towing or extended diagnosis. Based on all verified evidence—including photos, diagnostic data, and inspection notes—we cannot accept responsibility for windshield damage that was already present when your vehicle arrived.
