I purchased a Sonata on June 27/14 and received an email from Eddie (I think). He gave me two payment options, which seemed unclear to me, so I called him for clarification. The second option seemed better, but I asked Eddie what the down side was. He said there was no downside. At NO time was I told that there would a charge. Had I been told there was a charge for option B, I would have absolutely said NO. Two reasons for this: 1. I previously owned an Elantra and bought the extended warranty. I never had to use it, and so 2. I decided to buy another Hyundai because of its reliability. As I said, I never would have agreed to paying for an extended warranty. I called about this and spoke to the used car manager (?) Brandon. He treated me like crap. He made me cry and just kept saying, he could only deal with the facts and the fact was I signed the contract. I don't dispute that, but I feel very strongly that I was misinformed by not being given the 'fact' that I would be charged anything above what was agreed to in the salesman's office. My salesman was Alain, who no longer works for you. I wanted to talk to him to see what he remembered - coincidence???

Good Morning, I'm looking into your file this morning just so you are aware. From what I have gathered so far you received a Certified Pre-Owned rate which with Hyundai in order to receive that rate you need to purchase a warranty as well. Now what I gather from you this information was not disclosed to you. What I'm currently looking at is what the cost of borrowing would have been at a slightly higher interest rate compared to the rate that you received with the warranty. What ever the cost of borrowing difference is between the two rates I will minus from the warranty cost and pay you the difference. How does this sound? Thomas

It probably will amount to pennies. I told them I was planning to pay cash, but put financing in place until I was able to get the cash in place. FYI I will have the fill cash payment on Monday. Let me repeat, Eddie never mentioned the cost of an Extended Warranty, because I said I NEVER would have bought one! Brandon was a bully. I discussed the Extended Warranty with Alain and a sales manager and I told them I didn't need this because I had one with my last Hyundai and didn't use it.

Susan, I have reviewed all the documents and had personal discussions with my Finance department and my Sales Managers. You have signed legal documents stating that you understand and agreed to the warranty that comes with our Certified Pre-Owned interest rate. I apologize that you feel like you have been miss lead or upsold on a warranty that you did not agree to but the documents that you acknowledged and signed state that you did agree and understand. I have told my staff that in the future we have to be very clear and do our very best to explain everything in great detail so that there are no misunderstandings like this, if that was the case. Hyundai Canada at this point will not let me cancel the warranty so at this point there is nothing else that I can do. I hope that in the future the warranty that you agreed to comes in handy and that you will be happy in the end with the decision to move forward with it and the interest rate reduction.
