Barrie Subaru. A no-nonsense solution to buying a car. My visit to Barrie Subaru was to resolve a minor technical issue. Within the 15 minutes that it took to reprogram the tail gate of my 2014 Forester, I had purchased another car. Yes, I am a happy Subaru driver and am pleased to re-commit myself to the brand. Subaru cars are a solidly build product that are reliable and safe to drive. Maintaining the car is simple and cost effective. The Subaru company has pragmatically and steadily improved its features and designs over the few years that it has been in Canada. That being said; it has built a solid reputation for customer satisfaction that has earned respect from consumers and industry competition. The quality of the dealerships is improving and the after sales service component does a respectable job of maintaining the product at a fair price. Barrie Subaru sales staff know their product and I've found that they have the right attitude when dealing with the customer. As with any brand that is growing quickly; there are growing pains. The dealership sometimes struggle to fit appointments that are timely and convenient. However, expanded service facilities with improved and renovated show rooms will build customer confidence for the legions of potential Subi customers that have yet to adopt this pragmatic brand. More

Mike Hiltz, our sales consultant, was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and found us the vehicle we wanted - the basic model - without ever pressuring us to upgrade. He totally got where we were coming from. Dealing with Steve Gray, the Financial Services Manager, was also a great experience. He was friendly and easy going, and thoroughly explained all the warranty and protection plan options without ever being pushy. I came away feeling confident with the decisions that we made. I'm very happy with the whole experience, love my new vehicle, and would highly recommend Barrie Subaru to anyone. More

Christian Prost walked me through entire workings of the car, set up my Android Auto etc...I left with a car that I knew inside out. All the paper work was in order and made easy. Bad Experience with Picking up new car and Service I purchased a 2010 Forester in 2013. When I picked the car up they had misplaced my insurance / license papers and ended up letting me leave without. I purchased a 2010 Forester in 2013. When I picked the car up they had misplaced my insurance / license papers and ended up letting me leave without. After owning the car fro three months my engine was shuttering and stalling. I had to replace the ignition coil and spark plugs for $800 and had a loose heat guard they wanted $535 for and $112 labour. They held my car for a week when I bought it to detail it and give it a tune up. When I asked the service manager Tim why it needed so many fixes after I had just bought it, he replied "What do you expect, you bought a used car?". The car did cost me $22,000 and I thought I would have got better service for that price. When I did my Subaru survey after having the service I stated that I was told what to expect from a new car. I then had the service manager call me and threaten he was going to contact a lawyer, as I was slandering him. I put exactly what he said in the survey "What do you expect, you bought a used car?", so there was no slandering at all/ Needless to say I bought our newest Subaru at Richmond Hill Subaru and was treated 1000x better. I will never buy a Subaru from Barrie Subaru again. More

They were very accommodating around my schedule and the work was completed on time as promised. With her help we negotiated a good deal and then she worked hard to find the car we wanted and get it for us. Steve Gray worked patiently with us explaining benefits and costs of extended warranties etc. We were most impressed with all the people we met in the dealership. More
