Absolutely DO NOT BUY, SERVICE or TRADE with Hyundai, especially this location. Please save yourself the stress. I have been back and forth between pure rage and tears over my experience here. THOUSAN especially this location. Please save yourself the stress. I have been back and forth between pure rage and tears over my experience here. THOUSANDS in repairs, and ends with me having to purchase a replacement vehicle elsewhere putting me out another $30k on top of the 3.5k in repairs. This is a quick summary. -Bought 2014 Santa Fe XL from St Catharines location. Experience was okay. All future dealings with warranty and service done with AutoValue Hyundai as they are close to me. - Service is pushy with add-on services you don't need. They make everything sound like a favor or a deal when it is just standard or even sub-standard. - Do not trade a vehicle here, they offered me 8k for my Santa Fe months ago, when they would have sold for $17k. When buying our Santa Fe XL, they offered my wife who was alone approx 2k for our Elantra, when they would have sold for around 12k. - Two separate staff many months apart, one being the service manager Dave, argued with me about my vehicles towing capabilities. While I quoted their salesman and the owner's manual, he told me he felt different and it was common sense that what I was saying was wrong. Both of these arguments ended in them doing their homework and finding I was correct. Both of these conversations were extremely stressful to me as I actually did my research and was backed by Hyundai Sales staff at time of purchase. Being wrong about this research would mean I wasted a lot of money as I have a travel trailer I tow in the summer. - My coupler started to fail, I described the issue perfectly. They heard it but not super loud, and asked me to get a transmission fluid change as it would be taken into consideration if my transmission was the issue. As I know NOW..Transmission and coupler are not related and coupler failure on this vehicle is very common with general use, towing or not. I complained later and got credited for the $300 they charged me after an hour call with Dave. Later the coupler would be replaced. - I bring it in for a noise described as ON ACCELERATION ONLY. They talk me into replacing brakes and machine rotors to solve. $850 later, they realise the sound persists and they replace the transmission. - My coupler has failed again, I believe this vehicle shouldn't be rated for 5000lbs towing (as I am close to the limit) and this might be the cause for quick failure. The service manager Dave agrees and tells me he barely trusts his Santa Fe XL with 2500lbs in tow. Ask him. He even asked me to weigh my trailer and vehicle together to prove I was underweight (and I did). Despite this, Hyundai Canada, nor Autovalue Hyundai will help me as my extended warranty ended 3 months ago and the last coupler was replaced 13 months ago. Even though I talked to them 21,000km ago about my concerns when they fixed my transmission AND BEFORE the second coupler failure. They said it was fine to tow. - While troubleshooting my car for this second coupler failure, they broke the front passenger side strut/coil and determined the damage will be ~$1350. Dave confirms and agrees this happened in their care, but no one noticed, despite me literally not even being able to get out of the parking spot they parked it in without hearing the thunk it was causing by turning the wheel. This is on top of the coupler which is also ~$1350. - Dave offers to give me approx $250 off repairs, later to my wife he claims slightly higher. It makes no difference, this is $2700 I should not be paying for and half of it wasn't even an issue before they touched my vehicle. - I've towed my vehicle to my personal mechanic and selling once fixed. I now just had to go buy a new vehicle. This experience has literally cost me thousands and a ton of stress. I will absolutely never buy a Hyundai again. - I have more complaints, but chr limits. List of issues, not including regular wear like tires and brakes: - throttle body TWICE, wiper motors, A/C lines, transmission, awd coupler TWICE, and now the front right strut and spring in a 2.5 year period. I am coming to this agency for my all services. I started facing an issue with my car when i was at 10,000 km. Firstly, they are unable to identify the issue, than they order car muffler. I still had same issue this time they order Air Conditioner Compressor. After replacing that, I still had the same issue. So, they change my transmission. Still had the same issue. After they replace muffler again. Still my issue was not resolved. Now at 72,000 they finally found the issue they said there is manufacturing default in Rear diffuser of AWD. So what you think about there technicians, who can’t identify the issue. Moreover, they left open the glove box screws after changing the Air Filter. More
