Airdrie Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

Do NOT do business with Airdrie Dodge Jeep!! I purchased a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Airdrie Dodge Jeep in 2013. My purchase of the vehicle was fine... nothing outstanding though. Very averag I purchased a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Airdrie Dodge Jeep in 2013. My purchase of the vehicle was fine... nothing outstanding though. Very average. The vehicle has been good for me... no issues until Jan/2016. I have always done my regular maintenance on the vehicle and started experiencing some issues that took me into the Service Dept at Airdrie Dodge Jeep. I was advised that the transmission was toast. They provided me quotes on a new transmission. I have 120,000 on my Jeep and was perplexed why the transmission would have gone so early given regular maintenance and low mileage on the transmission. I spoke to Chrysler Canada about covering some of the costs of the transmission replacement as my warranty had run out at 100,000 km. Chrysler Canada advised that I would need to work with the Dealership for coverage on the transmission. I explained my situation to Steve Forman (Service Manager) who worked with his district guy and got approval for 50% cost coverage on repairing the existing transmission. While I had been waiting for that approval back, I had been speaking with Ron Down (Sales Consultant) on possibly buying a new vehicle from Airdrie Dodge Jeep. If my current Jeep was going to cost too much to repair and my intent was to only keep it for about another year, I thought I would look into putting my money into something new. Ron showed me a couple of different vehicles they had on the lot, I test drove them. They unfortunately did not have any Grand Cherokee's in my price range when I was looking. Ron gave me pricing on a Cherokee Trailhawk, assured me verbally that they would give me a good trade in value on my current Grand Cherokee. He stated that they would definitely make their money back on the trade in. Dale Roach had been working with Ron on the sale as well, in hopes to get the best price on a new vehicle for me and a good trade in value for mine. They seemed accomodating to my unfortunate situation.Both guys seemed very helpful at the time and seemed considerate. After I had looked at the new vehicle options available to me that I wasn't in love with, I called the Service Dept and asked that they just go ahead with the repair of the existing transmission. After I hadn't heard back from them in a week, I called to follow up on the repair status and was told that they assessed the existing transmission and it would cost more to repair the existing one than the cost of a whole new one. Again, they got approval from the district guy for 50% coverage on the cost and it was approved. I was now looking at about $8000.00 to repair, my cost being $4000.00. A $4000.00 repair on a vehicle I wanted to keep for another year seemed a bit silly. I called Ron back to re-visit my new vehicle options. Thought I wasn't in love with the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, I decided to way my evils and the lesser of the 2 seemed to be to just settle on the Cherokee Trailhawk. I called Ron to start the process on purchasing the Cherokee Trailhawk and was surprised to find out that everything we had talked about verbally was not the case on paper. To start, Ron asked me to send him a copy of the quote he had provided on the Cherokee Trailhawk days prior as he had not kept a copy. When I was scanning a copy of the quote, I had noticed that the trade in value Ron gave for my Grand Cherokee was horribly low. He had deducted the total cost of the transmission replacement on my trade in and had not accounted for the 50% that Chrysler Canada was going to be paying. The dealership was taking the full cost from me and pocketing Chrysler Canada's 50% that they were paying. When I confronted Ron about it, it was difficult to get a straight answer. He just kept saying that we're getting you out of your current Jeep and into something new. He wouldn't directly answer the question. Needless to say, that is where the deal fell apart. Dale Roach was just as involved as Ron was, which is a terrible thing on his part as he is the General Manager of the dealership. I called the Service Dept and told them that I was moving my vehicle to another Jeep dealership to be repaired as I could not trust at that point that they had actually properly assessed my transmission and weren't just focused on making a steal on my trade in and pocketing Chrysler's money as well as making money on a new sale. It appeared that they were more caught up in taking advantage of me than providing quality service. It is a terrible situation to begin with that my vehicle with 120,000 km on it needs a new transmission and they further try and take advantage of me. Transmissions don't typically go on a vehicle this early on and that's why I had looked to Chrysler Canada for assistance as clearly I have a lemon straight from the factory. I had to fight to have my vehicle released to me as Airdrie Dodge Jeep still wanted to charge me $150.00 for the diagnostic test they did 3 weeks prior in spite of everything they had done. They screwed me around for 3 weeks and still wanted me to pay them. I spoke to Dale Roach who waived the $150.00 charge as I had to now pay for a towing company to tow my Jeep from Airdrie to Southridge Jeep in Okotoks. It wasn't without a fight but he agreed to in the end. I had my Jeep towed immediately and have been working with Southridge on fixing mine and then selling me a new Jeep. As it turns out, to make matters worse, the district Chrysler guy for Airdire Doge Jeep would not give the go ahead on the 50% coverage on the transmission to the district Chrysler guy for Okotoks as he said it was a one-time good will offer. Needless to say I called Chrysler Canada directly and explained the situation and all they could do was apologize for the level of service Airdrie provided but said they couldn't do anything and Southridge Jeep now just needed to continue to work with their district guy. I was now being penalized for having taken my repair elsewhere because of the shady business Airdrie Dodge Jeep was doing. I contacted the Dealer Principal at Southridge and got him involved. He contacted his rep, as there was nothing more his service manager could do. They were very helpful in trying to put back together the mess that Airdrie Dodge had created that I was still now paying for. Clearly, Airdrie Dodge Jeep and their district guy made the decision to penalize me for moving my business elsewhere because they are shady and under handed. Nobody in their right mind would have continued to let Airdrie Dodge Jeep rectify the situation and fix my Jeep. All trust had been lost, plus they wasted a whole month with my Jeep. Luckily, the guys at Southridge Jeep have taken everything on with my Jeep and are trying to clean up the mess that Airdrie Dodge Jeep has created. Please... DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM AIRDRIE DODGE JEEP. It was the worst experience ever! They will take advantage of you... they will twist the sale numbers... they will tell you ANYTHING just to get you in the door and keep you there, even if it means taking advantage of good, honest people. They were taking advantage of me and taking advantage of Chrysler Canada's money. This is NOT a reputable dealership. Right from the top down, General Manager to the Sales Consultant to the Service Manager seemed to all be working together on screwing me out of money. I will not be referring anybody to this dealership! Please... buyer beware. I have no idea how they have received the awards that they advertise. I don't believe it. Please, Please do your homework before buying from these guys. Southridge Jeep in Okotoks has been fantastic!! Do your business there. I guarantee you it will be worth it. They have come to my rescue. More
