Beware of Aftermarket Mandatory Options Yes, be prepared to pay for $1500 or more of mandatory aftermarket options when purchasing a new car here. For some reason they will charge you (and not at dealer cost) for aftermarket tint, hood chip protection and a mandatory warranty on the rims ($500 to $600 each). This was not pointed out to me at time of purchase. These things should be optional. But, I guess they can get a away with it in this "take it or leave it" kind of car market. That's pretty shady. The sales manager was supposed to call me back about this but never did and I'm not surprised. If you are planning to purchase a new car and have time to look around I would check out other dealers and their charges, if any. On the plus side, Jim was a good salesman and helped us find the car we wanted. Not allot of other salespeople did at other dealers that we had been too. Due to the mandatory aftermarket costs though, I won't be buying another GM car here.

I must share my recent experience with Brain Cullen, which has left me profoundly disappointed and offended by their complete lack of professionalism and customer care. Yesterday, I called the business manager to arrange an appointment for today to the refund of my deposit. The business manager confirmed that anytime after 9:15 am would be suitable. Armed with this assurance, I arrived at the dealership's parking lot this morning, expecting a smooth and straightforward process. Unfortunately, what awaited me was a nightmarish sequence of events. Upon arrival, a salesperson approached me, delivering the news that I couldn't get my deposit back today and would have to return tomorrow because the business manager was absent. This announcement came without any apologies. Naturally, I questioned why the dealership hadn't notified me of this change before my arrival. The response from the salesperson was dishearteningly dismissive, asking, "What can I do?" Seeking answers, I decided to enter the dealership to speak with an employee at the front desk. However, before I could do so, the same salesperson intercepted me once again, demanding to know the reason for my dissatisfaction. I calmly explained my frustration with their unprofessional handling of the situation. In an astonishing and unprofessional display, the salesperson loudly yelled, "Fine, I'm refunding your deposit!" This outburst was not only offensive but also a stark example of their utter lack of professionalism and customer service. My experience at this dealer has been marred by this shocking episode, leaving me deeply offended and appalled. The behavior I encountered is inexcusable, and no customer should be subjected to such treatment.

Never again. Went to look at a vehicle April 20th - signed that it would be certified. The worst communication I've ever experienced. I had to call for updates every single time, and never a call back within a reasonable time and no reason for delay, just excuses. May 14th I finally get an answer that it cannot be certified and a refund will be issued. Today I finally received the cheque. 6 weeks!!! Absolutely absurd and a complete waste of my time and energy. Don't waste your time or hard earned money. Used car Sales manager I was dealing with no longer works there, I hope it's not a coincidence!

I recently picked up my brand new 2024 Envista Avenir. There might as well have been a red carpet for me because everything was spectacular as soon as I walked through their door. I can’t say enough about Megan Simpkins. Her knowledge of the cars as well as her professionalism and friendliness, helped me navigate the car buying process. I don’t think I have been treated even close to as well as I was today with any other purchase in my lifetime - and that includes house and condo purchases where I’m spending a lot more money. I highly recommend Bennett Chevrolet Buick GMC in Waterloo Region. I live in Waterloo and the short drive to visit Megan and see their inventory in Cambridge was well worth it. My Service Rep, Luciano Rotondo I have dealt with since 2017. That involved my late 2017 Acadia purchased there and my present 2018 Acadia bought used elsewhere. On my visits for service he has always kept me updated on the status of my vehicle whether I chose to stay at the dealership or go home. I know some repairs take more time than others. Additional problems that have cropped up, he has always called me, detailing them and the costs involved. Overall he has an excellent rating in my opinion.

Money grab and a pompous staff for sure as stated in the comments. If you are not knowledgeable about vehicles they will take advantage. This dealership preys on people who don't know better and are trusting them to be honest. This dealership had me leaving and returning with new problems each time I came in for service or an oil change for the last 4 years. Coincidence or bad luck until the last 2 oil changes were both leaking due to sloppy work . The last oil change was performed 1 day before leaving on a trip to northern Ontario leaving me stranded in Sturgeon Falls ON - no oil in vehicle. Vehicle had to be towed from Sturgeon Falls to Sudbury where it was discovered that the oil filter was cracked - either already damaged or cracked while changing the filter. Either way this was the second time and difficult to believe it was a one off being the second time in a row. John Bear did not want to be accountable and laid blame on GM for defective filter. John Bear also insisted that the engine light that remains on since the oil leak was completely unrelated to the drive from Hamilton to Sturgeon Falls without any oil left in my vehicle ??? I now realize that much of the service that I had done on the vehicle was likely unnecessary - such as spending over $1200 including a discount to have all the lines changed under vehicle 3 months earlier which did not resolve clunking issue. Clucking was in fact due to loose bolts underneath after returning with the same complaint - they didn't see this during the inspection and decided the line needed replacing ??? I was then charged to have the bolts tightened - nice. They said I must have have had work done somewhere else because they never touched the bolts ??? The positive comments on this site can only be made by knowledgeable customers that the dealership is unable to rip off. This is the 3rd vehicle purchase through John Bear - that's what you get for being a loyal customer. Hope this helps someone.

If you go, I highly, as a 20yr veteran professional of a safety critical job with very low tolerance for error, recommend dealing with Patrick Barrett. His attitude and demeanor in his sales approach is not only verifiably (and I verify) honest and accurate, he also has the tenure and relaxed approach to accommodate even the most apprehensive clients. If you aren't sure, have little experience, or the utmost savy, Pat will simply lay it into as it is. It's a symptom of his natural ability to avoid any of the salesman games you dread. Pat deploys repeat business as value and it shows. Beleive me... I'm on my 3rd vehicle with Barry Cullen and despite the particulars of some reviews airing their grievances about specific problems, I will leave it to the educated ear to understand that vehicle construction and dealerships are miles apart, and the dealerships themselves are also customers of the underlying manufacturer. I purchased a 2015 Toyota 4Runner from Gananoque Chevrolet and the salesman Nathan worked to get me the best deal for my situation. The delivery of the Toyota 4runner was delayed on the pick up day due to new tires which were ordered for certification not being received. Nathan called me while I was on route. He apologized for the delay and offered to deliver vehicle. Nathan delivered the Toyota 4Runner to me at my home in the GTA where we finalized the deal. He then helped me unload the snow tires which were included in the deal and stack them in my garage. Thanks Nathan and Gananoque Chevrolet for the great deal and service. Frank from Whitby Ontario.

John negotiated a price out to me on my trade in vehicle and when I said ok, lets do the deal... he ghosted me, then called the next day to say that they couldn't give me the negotiated number for my vehicle. He was extremely surprised when I said no, then started to take an intimidating tone over text after I said I was moving on. I may not have gotten a Cadillac, but I sure do love my new Lexus!
