Perfect first new car purchase! I've had a few cars and dealt with quite a few dealerships. I've been to some who leave you alone if you look a certain way; and some that push you so I've had a few cars and dealt with quite a few dealerships. I've been to some who leave you alone if you look a certain way; and some that push you so hard that you just get aggravated and leave.... ... Not this place; and not this salesperson. Martin was easily one of the coolest dudes that I've ever done business with. He was straight up, honest, funny; yet to the point. He made my first 'New Car (Truck) Purchase' an absolute breeze. He took the time to look into all of the available promotions (who the xxxx knew that you could save a grand from belonging to a credit union?!); and he saved me nearly $7,000... SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS PEOPLE!!! We need more folks like this... Even the salesfolk the weren't helping me directly brought my wife, my daughter, and myself water and offered coffee and such... Way. They got me what I wanted I've been considering buying an Xterra since November but I've been waiting to sell my house. I'm planning on moving to a warmer part of the country I've been considering buying an Xterra since November but I've been waiting to sell my house. I'm planning on moving to a warmer part of the country and didn't want to expose a new vehicle to snow and road salt. I was pretty concerned when Nissan announced that 2015 would be the last year for this vehicle. All of a sudden it's mid July and I know that if I don't get one soon I'm gonna be out of luck. To complicate matters, I have a pretty specific idea of what I want (Pro 4x, Standard Tranny and tow package). I start by going to a large volume dealer in the central part of the state. I get the old "we don't have one on the lot but we'll call you when we find one" line--I'm still waiting for THAT call. Next I go online and find a match at a dealership in Southeastern CT. I call and arrange a test drive that afternoon. Wouldn't you know it but when I get there, the vehicle I'm interested in "just got sold". Mind you this is TWO HOURS after I called. Of course they tried to get me to buy what they had on their lot. Now we're getting close to the end of production for the Xterra. I've wasted a couple of weeks trying to chase down the vehicle I want. According to Nissan's website there's only about 3 vehicles set up the way I want in all of New England. My wife sees something on Gates Nissan's website saying that they can get the vehicle you want. I roll the dice and send them an email. I get a prompt response both by phone and email. They will make a few calls and get back to me. This is on a Friday. By Monday they've found my car. I go down Tuesday to make a deposit. By Thursday the car is prepped and ready to go WITH my add-on step rails installed. I would have drive it away happily that night except that nobody told me they needed a bank check for my down payment (I guess people don't put a lot of money down on cars anymore). Anyway we cleared all that up this morning and I'm another happy customer. My salesman, Jay did a great job getting exactly the vehicle I wanted. Even though I've been on Nissan's website at least once a week for the past six months he seemed to know more about the truck than me as he was going over the features. And never once during the whole buying experience did i feel like I was getting pressured. More
