In negotiating for my new car, the salesman doesn't remember that he gave me the option to either trade my car in or just come up with the money. When I told him what a wonderful car mine was and all that I had done to keep it in good shape, I was hinting that I had given them a real deal. The salesman said "Then just bring in the money" (if you don't want to trade it in). Based on that, I told a few people about it and they offered more, but when my new car came in, the dealership said the contract wasn't written that way and if I wanted to keep my car, I would have to come up with $2500 more to buy the new one. I was able to convince the potential buyer that the deal was off because the terms of buying the new car were not as originally understood. I found out later that the buyer's sponsor was willing to pay the $2500 more, but at the time no one was thinking that way. We were too busy trying to figure out what could have gone wrong. I really don't wish to talk about this anymore. It is what it is, and nothing's going to change that. The salesman's manager gave me $1000 more for my car. I'm willing to be happy with the transaction (if you quit sending me these emails). Thanks - Dave
