The response to my email was quick and a meeting was arranged. I was greated at the dealership within minutes of arriving by John McAuley, we chatted a bit, he understood what I wanted and did not try to sell me a different vehicle. Within 90 minutes we had a fair deal, no b/s, no games, no aggravation. The vehicle I wanted was in transit, as soon as the vehicle was available I was notified. Completing all the paperwork and the sale was easy and painless. A well run professional car dealership, I wish other ones could be more like Okanagan Chrysler. A Journey was not available at that time but Mr. Mc Auley promised he would contact us should one come available. So he did the next day. During the process of buying Mr. Mc Auley never tried to sell us anything but helped us buy. The process was clean. Mr. Mc Auley is a true professional with an excellent product knowledge. During my recent visit to the upbeat dealership I was greeted by sales associate Kevin Tameling who was willing to spend time with me to find out what my needs and wants were in a vehicle, even if I was just scouting things out. But thanks to Kevin Tameling, and sales manager Dave Loewen, they were able to find me the perfect vehicle. What I was most surprised with, was never feeling any pressure from any of the staff, like most people I was somewhat anxious about negotiations and the post sale add-ons, but I never felt uncomfortable or forced, business manager Adam Johnstone assisted in the transaction, he was very honest and knowledgeable and always made me feel that I was making the right decisions. A Day @ A Car Dealership As the title declares, I recently spent the morning and early afternoon at Okanagan Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Kelowna B.C. purchasing a new vehicle. Who As the title declares, I recently spent the morning and early afternoon at Okanagan Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Kelowna B.C. purchasing a new vehicle. Who would have known it takes so long to buy a new toy? Well, it all takes time to negotiate a “good” deal that satisfies both the vendor and purchaser, cancel old trade-in car insurance, initiate new car insurance, purchase extended service plan, sort out last minute details, review the new purchase and of course the walk around and explanation of gizmo functions of a new high tech automobile. Can I think of better ways to spend Saturday? Yes! Having said all of this, the challenges of purchasing a new vehicle can be daunting and in fact downright distasteful for many purchasers. There is, however, a big silver lining in this elongated process. Kevin Tameling (sales associate) and Clayton Andres (General Sales Manager) both took a personal interest and offered “hands” on advice, guidance and assistance in my purchase. Both these gentlemen more than made up for any misgivings I might have had when first arriving at the dealership. From the moment I entered the dealership I was impressed with the somewhat laid back but professional attention I received from Mr. Tameling who met me as I walked around what would become my new car. Kevin was attentive without being pushy. He enjoys a wonderfully warm, comfortable and engaging personality making him easy to deal with. His significant product knowledge of an unusual and unique vehicle (Grand Cherokee SRT) is noteworthy as he effortlessly responded to all my tech questions. Firstly, I must say that I actually enjoyed the process that Okanagan Chrysler Jeep Dodge applies to a vehicle purchase. Rather than haggling with a sales associate who literally has to run back and forth between the General Sales Manager and the customer to broker a deal, this dealership brings the General Sales Manager in to see the customer in the first instance. Bravo! It was then that I first met Mr. Clayton Andres, the General Sales Manager. Clayton is a “car nut” and we immediately hit it off with too many car stories. He too enjoys an easy going and professional personality that is self-evident within the first two minutes of conversation. As an informed consumer, I had done significant research both locally and on line to determine what the new car “should” sell for and what my trade-in was worth. I told Clayton what I would like to pay for the car, he hummed and hawed a moment and we had a deal. Refreshingly, we didn’t fill out a lot of paperwork at the time, but simply shook hands and the deal was done. I have purchased a lot of cars over many years and I must say, this was one purchase that I found satisfying and enjoyable. No haggling, no game playing back and forth, just simply business, done right! Whilst unable to recommend past vehicle purchase experiences, I can honestly report that Okanagan Chrysler Jeep Dodge is one of a kind! Both Kevin and Clayton were instrumental in making my experience pleasant and yes, I definitely would not only recommend them but will be back for more! P.S. A day later, the SRT is all I imagined!
