Bought a brand new Ram, not treated very well not satisfiedf Here is my experience so far buying a new truck at Elgin Chystler, starts off with something small, then things go well and then completely crash and Here is my experience so far buying a new truck at Elgin Chystler, starts off with something small, then things go well and then completely crash and burn.... I showed up there early (8:30) and the receptionist told me that the salesman start at 9 but they start flooding in sometime between 8:30 and 9:00 and that as soon as one came in she would send them my way. I waited for 45 minutes without a word to anyone. Not the end of the world but I was perturbed enough to go somewhere else. My journeyman bought a truck from there and my boss vouched for a salesman there named Jason Dasilva so I figured what the xxxx, I'll try again. Jason Dasilva was a great guy and very informative. Everything went smoothly with him. The big day comes to pick it up! I get just around the corner and notice my check engine light is on. To be honest I wasn't too upset because I figured it was an O2 sensor or the gas cap from maybe sitting in the lot for too long. I went right back to the dealership and they sent out their Service and Parts Advisor, Roger Ooms. This is where everything went wrong... He came over and checked the code, when I asked what the code was he said there wasn't one and that he cleared the light finishing by telling me to come back if the light comes back on. I didn't know any better at the time so I took off. 24 hours later the code came on again and I was driving a loaner for the weekend because it was a transmission code. So this guy, Roger Ooms, cleared a transmission code, let me drive off with a potentially serious problem and lied directly to my face about it, there is ALWAYS a code if the check engine light is on. Turns out it was the transmission valve body and I can still drive it... so I'm driving my brand new truck with a check engine light on... a $50,000 broken truck. More
