Seller's Comments

A full blackout style, proper V8 power, and fastback appeal make this 1968 Ford Mustang 2+2 instantly desirable. And this one even has just a hint of a legendary feel.

We know why you like the look of this one. The dark paint, deleted badging, and deluxe hood make this look like it could be a cousin to Bullitt Mustang. We're not saying it's trying to be a replica, but you can tell it gives a lot of the same vibe. You might feel it's a bit meaner than Steve McQueen's car since this is done in black. It's an upgraded application with a nice gloss and shine that goes well with the chrome bumpers and trim. But don't ever think of this as a museum piece. As you look through the whole car, the idea is to have one that makes an excellent impression while never hesitating to drive on the streets of San Francisco. It has cool/classic cruiser upgrades like the billet-style grille, polished dual exhaust tips, and actual Ansen Sprint slotted mag wheels.

The black interior gives this pony car a full midnight style. It has a clean look with newer carpeting and a smooth dash. You'll even like the details, including the working interior lights and the fold-down rear seat. And you get the right feeling that this was made to be a driver. You have good-looking front bucket seats with headrests, an upgraded steering wheel, and a bright shifter in all this darkness that's a nice place to rest your hand.

Everyone knows that if Steven McQueen was going to be a contender against the Charger R/T, he needed more power, and this motor takes that idea to heart. It has the mighty 302 cubic-inch V8 and upgrades it further with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, and long tube headers feeding the dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. There are also suitable supporting components like a serpentine belt system, upgraded pulleys, polished Ford Racing valve covers, and a Champion aluminum radiator with an electric fan. It's a strong runner that was built to be an all-around solid driver. That means a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, front discs, and the grip of modern BF Goodrich gForce tires.

The sale comes complete with a Marti Report. This fastback reminds us of a celebrity and is a unique classic. It makes this coupe feel like it could create its legend on the streets. Call now!
