Three years ago, I wrote a glowing review of the service department of this dealership about work on my new 2022 Hybrid Rav 4. I now realize the trust I placed in this dealer was misplaced. On June 11, I signed paperwork to purchase a 2021 Toyota Prius from Suburban Toyota of Farmington Hills. The dealer informed me that the hood latch needed to be repaired, but that the service department was short-staffed and that the service manager would not invest time in making this repair. It sent the car to a repair shop. I was told it was safe to sign the paperwork on the car because it would be ready by the end of the week. I received this message in writing from the dealer on June 17: “Your Prius is done from body shop now our Service is working on it for oil change and all regular maintenance. you will receive my confirmation within 2 days. Thanks” Over the past two months, I’ve reached out regularly about the status of the car. It’s now August 14. I’m paying on the Prius, but still have not received the car. I now realize that because I’m already paying the loan, the dealer has no financial incentive to get me the car, so it hasn’t. I have not gotten action from the managers or finance staff at this dealership. It’s unfortunate that posting a review like this is needed to get Toyota to respond or take action. If they decide to turn over the Prius to me, and honor their commitment to take the 2022 RAV 4 as a trade-in, it will be the third and last Toyota I buy. More
