Peter was firm but fair during the negotiation process, and while he was willing to make concessions, he also clearly knew his stuff with respect to the vehicle's value. Definitely the polar opposite of the typical car salesman. Overall, I commend him most on his unparalleled level of knowledge of the vehicle, along with a great degree of friendliness. I would also like to thank Eddie Reyes for assisting us in the trade in and negotiation process. Eddie was very easygoing and kind. Wyman Chow in the finance office was also exceptional. She made the actual buying process easy, and worked with us to come up with a plan that suited us best while also offering us a great deal on a vehicle care package we would have otherwise not purchased given the price. Overall, the dealership was great. They really do make you feel like part of the Volvo family, and all of the staff were great to work with. They obviously are running a business and are trying to make money, but this dealership struck a perfect balance between being all about the bottom line and actually caring about and making it work for the customer. Peter is single handedly the reason I got my first Volvo and now he's the reason for my second purchase as well. Let me start with I am a “tough” customer. I have a high expectation for reasonable pricing, professional behavior and attitude... starting with the salesperson, moving on to the sales manager, and finance expectation for reasonable pricing, professional behavior and attitude... starting with the salesperson, moving on to the sales manager, and finance manager. In general I do not like sales experiences. I do not like hard-sell tactics and drawn out sales games. I don’t like a salesperson telling you you are buying the best car in the world and the finance manager holding you hostage and telling you, an extended warranty, fabric and paint protection is “Critical” because without it your car will fail the day after your included warranty expires and you will pay thousands! TO MY POINT: Peter Larson, my salesman was unlike any I have ever bought from in my 40 years of buying. He is responsive, he learns your personality quickly and adjusts to your style and preferences in sales. First contact he called me from my electronic query and I told him what he was dealing with in me. I told him I wanted to talk no more than twice about a price: His offer, my offer and one fallback price. I didn’t want to go through a 2 hour to 3 day process of back and forths, then escalate to his boss, then the sales manager, general manager etc. Peter was awesome! Great price, the car had all I asked for. He saved me from sheer misery from previous sales in my life. After this sale I asked Peter how come he respected my expectations so well and he shared in general terms: We value this sale and want you to be happy and have a good experience, but we also want you to come back and bring friends etc. Well, how can I blame him for that, they want me to come back and bring my friends too, which is exactly what I intend to do. What a professional experience from the moment we reached out to this dealership. We were put in touch with Peter Larson (sales/leasing consultant) over the phone and set a general time to meet. Once we arrived, he greeted us with mask on (all of the staff throughout the store had them on) and after some brief intros and clarifying questions, walked us over to check out a few XC90s that fit what we were looking for. After we provided driver's license and insurance, we were off test driving (by ourselves). In between each test drive Peter had some insightful questions - and some great answers to our questions about the car. Didn't take us that long to pick one - and then Peter introduced us to Noah Greaney (who I think is the Manager). He was a pleasure to deal with. He offered us a pretty solid deal right off the bat, but after a small subtraction was agreed to - we had a deal. We also got more for our trade than we were expecting! Wait until you see the digital document signing thing in the finance office. It's this huge flatscreen/touchscreen that covers the entire top of a desk. Made signing the paperwork faster and smoother. Ms. Chow is super quick at getting the deal finished so you can get out of there in your new car. Overall, fantastic experience from start to finish - and most importantly - we LOVE this XC90. We also test drove the following in case it helps; 2021 Tahoe (really really nice but such a big thing to drive everyday), new Expedition (drives much smaller than the Tahoe even though it's just as big - super nice), new Explorer ST (sporty and fun to drive - great exhaust sound), and a Lexus GX (felt like 2012 inside - tech feels a decade behind, but the fit and finish was second to none - so luxurious). Peter returned our call right away, sent us the additional photos we requested, pulled up the original car sticker for the CPO vehicle, and got us the info we needed, so we were able to drive to the dealership the same afternoon. We were surprised and impressed that Peter had arranged to have the car detailed while we were in transit, so it was sparkling clean and ready to purchase by the time we got there! (Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to drive home with the car that day.) We really appreciated the quick turnaround! In general, it was clear that Peter is super knowledgeable about Volvos and the model we bought -- any question, he answered from experience. And he's a total pro with the paperwork - everything went as quickly as possible. We will highly recommend Silver Spring Volvo and Peter to our friends and family! More
