I worked with someone based on the understanding that I would be getting a good deal as an Indigenous person. I thought I could only work with certain companies and receive tax exemption. But I was wrong, I will get back to this later. Anyways, because I thought this was the only dealership I thought I could work with I chose my vehicle and put down a $500 deposit. I was going to go through with an offer he made but after talking with some loved ones I decided against spending $30,000+ on a used car. I am a student and I do work full time, but at this time an investment like this is not necessary. So I wanted my deposit back, as a student and someone who makes an average wage, $500 is a lot for me. I felt uncomfortable having a stranger hold $500 for me. Which I think is reasonable.
I wish he had the decency to be like, “hey, you’re a student, let me help you out and see what I can do... lets get you a cheaper car... etc., etc.”. You know, just to be courteous. He didn’t obviously and that was disheartening. It also would have saved BOTH of us time and energy. I mean, he could have persuaded me to get a cheaper car, cause he definitely persuaded me to get an expensive car.
Upon making this decision I texted the individual I was working with and he said I had to do x, y, and z to get my money back. I ETRANSFERED HIM THIS MONEY. I said, multiple times, why do I need to do x, y, and z to get MY MONEY back? He then said that is just the rules. I then asked about policies regarding this rule and he said there are none! He makes them up! Hogwash, hey? Not only that, during this discussion he spoke over me and practically yelled at me.
BCS also was completely unhelpful in this situation, as I messaged and called two different “managers” and one didn’t respond and the other just handed me off to the guy I was dealing with. This was interesting because when I spoke with him (the guy who was rude to me), he was like “hey, even I have a boss”.
Shady business practices if you ask me:
1) If you are status indigenous you are actually tax exempt from all car dealerships, not just ones who tout the indigenous terminology!!!!!!!
2) When giving money to a company, ensure they give you their policies about wanting the money back so there are no surprises
3) They price gouge in more than one area, so do not forget to negotiate
4) If you disagree with them, they may yell at you
Please people, do your research before working with any company and trust the bad reviews. Know what you need and don’t let people take advantage of you!

First time buyer at Budget Car Sales. I have always bought a car from a direct owner as I have always refrained purchasing from a dealership due to the stereotype of high pressure salespeople . I searched online reviews and BCS stood out for credibility and customer satisfaction. I was met by John who at first was under the impression of me wanting a car immediately. After clarifying my needs he was very patient, accommodating my personal needs. I was taken with a Nissan. It was best suited for me. He went above and beyond my expectations, and did his best to make me not only purchase the car, but to do so, with a clear conscience, free of any stress, that this was the right decision for me. He was very professional and in the end I knew that BCS was a great choice. Tim in financing was affable and made the process seamless and enjoyable. He has a great sense if humour to boot. Both John and Tim provided a detailed history of the car. All maintenance service records and any records if possible accidents. Accident free. I did notice after several days with the car there was a wheel imbalance issue. Lionel, Derrick, and Shawn insured that I recieved a complimentary car while the Nissan was looked at. Shawn was exceptional in insuring the complimentary car was best suited for my height. Turned out to be a minor fix, totally expensed to BCS. The entire staff at BCS have been courteous and professional from start to finish. From Peter who picked me up downtown for an appointment to Raveen who had the Nissan checked up on. I thoroughly recommend BCS and if I were to purchase another car in the future I will definitely return. Thank you to all.

I came in to their lot once again wanting to take something special for a test drive, the couple I had my eye on just were not for me. John, my favorite Salesman found something special for me, a 2019 Fusion Hybrid with every option that I was looking for, pretty car, rides smooth and the price was fair, the car was spotless, low low k's and they financed it all to my liking, they even arrange for the Insurer to show up and do all the paper work. another HREAT experience by guys that know what they are doing and a salesman that wants to put the right car to the right drive, Thanks guys as always I'll be back.........Did I mention that this was my 4th car at BCS.

Last friday Oct 4. We bought a 2016 RAV4 from this wonderful lot. The whole experience was very painless. The test drive was wonderful. One of the owners, Lionel sold us the vehicle and Tim in the office helped us with the paying of the RAV4. Dave Ashe made sure our new sport utility was safe by his inspection report. The service guys Raveen, Jimmy and Steve washed the vehicle and filled it with gas while we took care of the paperwork. Abe, the Insurance guy took about 7 minutes to get us on our way. We arrived at 11:05 and were on our way home at 1:00. The best experience at a car lot I have ever had.

I previously purchased a vehicle from BCS Auto (Budget Car Sales back then) and when it was time to purchase another car I was very reluctant to go back because I had such a bad experience there with the former Salesperson and the financier (they do not work there anymore). The only reason I went back was because the car I purchased has been very reliable and they do offer very competitive pricing, but honestly, it really felt like I was walking back into a dragons den.
However to my surprise, all the people I met with this time was very attentive when I expressed about the unfair treatment I received in the past, they were genuinely willing to correct the issue with or without the purchase/sale of a car which made me feel happy that I came back.
I ended up driving out with the car that I wanted with a great deal! I wish to thank Dave, Lionel, and Tim each of them for going the extra mile to welcoming me back and help turn my experience around. Also, Aaron who helped me with my car insurance secured my long-lasting impression with the company! I greatly appreciated for everyone's time and work.
I would highly recommend BCS Auto for new and old-time customer like myself. Go see them!
