I have had service with Honda Avenues in the past,
terrible. I will be completely honest I called Lucas Honda and Honda of St Augustine before I came to your location to make an appointment but they d

I will be completely honest I called Lucas Honda and Honda of St Augustine before I came to your location to make an appointment but they didn’t have available options and my car wasn’t starting. I will say it was very nice of you to bring me via shuttle to and from work but outside of that no thanks. I dropped off my car because it was not starting, unfortunately it ended up being my starter which I already had replaced two years before at Lucas Honda. I was told it would be 1300 to fix so I told Eric I just replaced it, is there a warranty? He told me no so I called around for better pricing to replace. When I told Eric this he told me if I replace my starter and it’s not Hondas I will get a service engine light every time I start my car?? That was a lie and a total load of crap. So I called my trusted car repair shop I go to all the time and they said thats 100% not true, wasn’t surprised. I scheduled with them to fix but said you know what? I’m going to call Lucas because I’m so frustrated I have to replace this starter for the third time since having it with 65k on the car, not right. Luckily as expected Lucas was very helpful, the service team advised me that actually my starter was still under warranty so have Eric call him and he will send Eric what he needs for the warranty to be covered. I call Eric back and at told him to call the service department at Lucas and they will send him what they need, he pretty much told me I can call them back myself and have them email it to him, seriously? Again, not surprised. I called Lucas back and talked to the same guy, so nice and helpful. He kinda laughed when I told him what Eric said and he told me don’t worry about it, he will call Eric for me and work with him to send them what they need. Thanks Lucas!! That’s top notch service, and not even your issue. In the end my starter is fixed, there was oil on it so I now know why it was damaged so soon and fixed that myself. But I assure you after this last experience, I would rather have just towed my car to one of the other Honda locations so I could be taken care of and not lied to about my repair. That’s what I will do for my future service issues, never Honda of the Avenues again, should have just stuck to my original plan of never going there.

While I’m glad our shuttle service was helpful and that the starter concern was ultimately resolved under warranty, I understand your frustration with the communication surrounding the repair process.
I would like to clarify that aftermarket electrical components can, in some cases, create issues with vehicle systems or warning lights depending on the part quality and compatibility. However, we certainly never want any explanation to come across as misleading or dismissive, and I apologize if that was your impression during your interaction with our team.
Regarding the warranty process, after learning the starter had previously been replaced at another Honda dealership, we absolutely should have handled the communication directly with Lucas Honda and assisted in obtaining the warranty information needed for coverage. I apologize that this was not handled more seamlessly on our end and understand why that added to your frustration.
We do appreciate your feedback, as it gives us the opportunity to review how situations like this are communicated and handled moving forward. I’m glad you were ultimately able to get the repair covered and identify the oil leak concern contributing to the failure. We wish you the very best moving forward and again extend my apology for the lack of customer service which we will address.
