I purchased a 2010 FJ Cruiser from Handy- a good vehicle from what I thought was a reputable dealer. This was not a wholesale vehicle- I paid the better part of 26K. The actual sales experience was fine- ev from what I thought was a reputable dealer. This was not a wholesale vehicle- I paid the better part of 26K. The actual sales experience was fine- everyone was friendly. While travelling home (which was over 4hrs away) 3 relatively minor things occurred- a tire pressure warning light activated (which is probably just a bad sensor), the windshield washer wouldn't work (it appears to be a leak as the fluid ruins out), and the AC stopped blowing cold air (which hopefully only requires a recharge). Frankly it was somewhat my fault for not taking the vehicle out on an extended test drive (in which case these issue would have been caught before purchase) but it was late in the day, and I had a long drive home. I really wasn't all that concerned because my salesperson had informed me I had a 30 day, 1000 mile warranty. And again, I'm buying this from what I thought to be a reputable dealer. I contacted my salesperson the following day to inquire about the warranty- if perhaps I could take it to a local Toyota dealership to get these things fixed; she advised she would check and call me back, I never heard back from her. The following day I received a voicemail from the finance person who advised that there wasn't much they could do unless I wanted to purchase the $2,800 extended warranty (which I had declined at the time of purchase mostly because that's a ridiculous amount for about 40,000 miles of coverage). I called him back and explained that I had been told I had a 30 day/ 1,000 mile warranty. He then advised that the "warranty" was a limited powertrain warranty in which the dealership would pay 50%. I advised this was unacceptable- that these are basic functions of any vehicle and should have been fixed prior to sale. I explained that I did not purchase a wholesale vehicle- I purchased a good car from a reputable dealership. He advised he would check with "the guys" and call me back, and as this was a Saturday, the return phone call would probably be the following Monday. There was no return call the following Monday, no return call the following week. 9 days later I called and left a voicemail for the finance person to check in; no return call yet again. To be honest I'm pretty surprised that a dealership like Handys would pull this sort of thing- you expect it from a private sale or one of those fly by night small places, not a well established Toyota dealership. And as I mentioned, these aren't even major issues like a bad transmission or an engine failure. Shame on me for not performing an extended test drive, shame on them for not doing the right thing. It is clearly apparent that this is a tire slap and vehicle wash dealership when it comes to used cars. Very surprised and very disappointed- not the way to run a business. More

First off I like Handy Toyota as a dealership in general. They have a lot of cars and a nice service department. So far my experiences have all been great over there at Handy Toyota. I want to dedicate this review to the salesman who worked with me specifically. I worked with Adam Bentley and he was great to work with. This guy probably spent close to 14 hours with me over a couple days and helped me every step of the way. I really appreciated his patience and diligence to help me through the car buying process. He ended up finding me a truck that was the perfect buy and it was something we weren’t even looking at. I appreciated that he understood what I was looking for and what I wasn’t, and he found me the right truck. Thanks Adam! I also want to give a shout out to the financial advisor Dennis Gebhardt. We were finishing the deal and it was rolling into after hours. He came over from Downtown and stayed late to allow me to drive home in my new truck that night. He was very nice and informative as well. I really appreciated both of their work ethics. Like I said, I like Handy Toyota as a dealership. Thanks again! More

Our recent experience at Handy Toyota was excellent – my daughter was looking to buy her first car and from the time we pulled onto the lot looking at vehicles to the day she pulled off the lot in a new car daughter was looking to buy her first car and from the time we pulled onto the lot looking at vehicles to the day she pulled off the lot in a new car we had the best service from everyone we met. Jesse was a fantastic salesman – he asked what she was interested in, showed her what they had available and what they had coming in, he explained the process of waiting for the car she wanted the kept us up to date on all status changes as the car was being delivered, and then walked us through the entire sales process smoothly and expertly when the car was ready for pick up. On the day of purchase, while waiting for paperwork and financing to be ready, Kyle and Jordan checked in numerous times to see if we needed anything while Jesse and Dennis were working on our stuff “behind the scenes” and getting everything ready for her. Being nervous, as this was her first car purchase, they made sure that she was comfortable and being kept informed of what was going on while she waited. When it came time to talk financing, Dennis was able to answer all of our questions immediately and made the entire process of buying a car simple and enjoyable rather than stressful for her. Adam and his team at Handy Toyota not only sold her a car that day but gained a new family of customers through their excellent customer service and willingness to go above and beyond. Great job to all, but a special Thank You to Jesse, Dennis, Kyle, Jordan, and Adam on this sale. We appreciate all of you and will definitely be seeing you in the future! More
