I had been to many dealers and test drove several cars before happening upon Gunn Honda. By way of background, my husband and I were looking for a vehicle for me. We live in Laredo so we had to drive 3 before happening upon Gunn Honda. By way of background, my husband and I were looking for a vehicle for me. We live in Laredo so we had to drive 3 hours to look for cars in San Antonio. We made a list of vehicles and viewed as many as possible over two days. We were looking for an crossover SUV under $35,000 out the door. After the first day, I was sick of car dealers. While some were nice, some were just plain rude and did not appreciate our budget or that we were looking for used. Two, in particular, were awful. When we went to try again the second day, I was done with car dealers but still needed a vehicle. We made another list and set out. Finally, we just happened to decide to stop at Gunn Honda since we were interested in Honda Pilots. There we met C.K. and life changed for the better. Here are the immediate differences I noted: 1. xx wanted to know what I wanted. We went through color of car (not a deal breaker for me), type of vehicle, features I liked and didn't need, budget, mileage. He truly listened. Ironically, he is the FIRST dealer out of many others who actually to time to hear what we wanted rather than just showing us a car on our list. 2. xx was extremely knowledgeable about the Honda Pilots. On other test drives, we thought some features of the cars we drove did not work because the salesperson did not know how to activate them. xx not only answered detailed questions, but knew all the different features and models. That was SO helpful. 3. xx was genuine. They don't budge on the price (which surprised me since many dealers do), but xx kindly explained he would not push me to buy a car that did not meet my needs just to get a sale. I found that to be very true. He pulled out three different pilots just so I could see which trim levels I preferred. 4. No hidden fees. xx explained that they don't have a bunch of hidden fees. In comparison, one dealer we went to added his commission AFTER the price. Yikes! xx told us about the small document fee up front (all their fees on closing were around $200 for doc prep, etc. if I remember correctly). 5. xx had genuine respect. Any salesperson will call you ma'am or sir to get a sale. When xx was on a test drive with us, his dad called. He answered, "Yes, sir" very genuinely. xx is approximately 40 years old yet showed real respect for everyone, not just those he was showing cars too. 6. Craig, xx's father, is a senior salesperson and he was extremely kind to us, printing out information that answered our questions. He knew the Hondas inside and out so, if xx wanted to double check something, Craig was an walking encyclopedia on Hondas. So helpful to me. He also treated everyone with respect from customers to finance service to mechanics to cleaning personnel. The respect was real not faked. 7. Friends. The gentlemen at this dealership are truly that, gentlemen first and salespeople second. The difference between them and every other dealership we visited was incredible. Both xx and his dad are the type of people we would love to have as friends if we didn't live 3 hours away. They are real and genuine and took the time to care about what we wanted, even though we were not a new car sale. 8. Detail. We were done with signing and ready to go but Craig offered us water and the comfy seats and asked that we wait for detailing on the Honda Pilot I chose. Because cars are turning so fast these days, other dealers showed me some they had just received that were messy. I can clean a car, but, somehow, when I am spending $35,000 on something, I appreciate it being nice. At Gunn's Honda, this Honda Pilot was immaculate already. I explained to Craig that the car was fine how I drove it. In a friendly way, he laughed and explained that I had trusted them with an important purchase and he was going to make sure it looked wonderful for me to take home. I know this review is long, but I hate looking at cars. I would have rather gone to the dentist than visit another dealer before I met everyone at Gunn's Honda. Night and day difference. Our experience was so enjoyable and I left with a huge smile on my face because, not only were we treated well, but I left with a vehicle that fit EXACTLY what I personally wanted. That should not be rare, but apparently it is. I would go back to Gunn's Honda if I every need another vehicle, especially if I were considering a Honda. I want to thank them and let them know how much their service stood out and changed our car shopping experience. Good, trusted people. More

I’ve bought over 15 cars from Gunn. They have always been honest and great experiences. Acura, Honda, Nissans I’ve bought. two weeks ago I went to Gunn Honda to trade in my daughters civic lease to get a 2023 HRV. That’s when I met the salesman Craig. First he tells me there are none on the lot and they will not be getting in any anytime soon. So he showed me a 2020 with roughly 5000 miles for $32,000. That’s $5000 more than a brand new one. This guy said when the new ones come in there’s going to be a six to $8000 markup and the 2020 is the best deal I would get. He also told me there was no lease options. I called Fernandez Honda and they had one on order to come in in the next few weeks so I ended putting a deposit for the one coming there. I then called back to gunn Honda to talk to the manager. The manager said there were three coming in in the next month or so. I said I’ll take the next one coming in but by the time The manager got a salesman to call me back someone already put a deposit on that one. The manager told me there was no mark up as well. Now I did get my car through Fernandez Honda they were 100% honest and upfront and actually got me my payment over $100 lower than what was first quoted to me. I would never say anything bad about any of the gun dealerships but if you go to GunHonda run away from Craig as fast as you can. That guy wanted a quick one day sale instead of me ordering a car and getting the car two weeks later. I’m sure he made more money on this used car. When I confronted him a week later regarding the markup he called me a liar and said he never said that. My entire family was there and we all heard it. In fact he called me three times and assured me of his markup and if I wanted to get that used HRV it’s still there for me. When I told him I ordered the car from Fernandez with no markup he said they were lying to me(got it with no mark up like they said). Seems like the only liar is Craig at gunn Honda. Again run from Craig as fast as you can. My new Honda dealership will be Fernandez from here on forward because of Craig. More
