I purchased a truck, regretfully, at Corwin Toyota.
Here’s why I would not recommend them again…

1) Poor service. I had asked to be pre-approved because I have a one year old and didn’t want to spend hours at the dealership. I communicated this several times to which the salesman, Clay, responded that we can get you approved while you’re here, which tells me he didn’t hear my concern about making this a quick process. Then, I waited over a week for someone to call from financing to go over the application with me over the phone. After waiting the week, I had to call them back and got the same response, “let’s deal with that while you’re here.” I was finally able to apply for financing online since they refused to have anyone call me. After applying, I got a phone call saying I was ore-approved and that I wouldn’t have to deal with Clay and that the GM would take over my sale, which did not happen when I showed up. When they called to tell me I was preapproved, it took me asking a few times to learn what the APR was, as I was insistent on knowing because I wasn’t going to drive over an hour of it wasn’t good.
2) There are two deep rock chips in the paint so I asked for them to toss in a $15 paint pen. Clay, the salesman, couldn’t agree to that without manager approval, but when I told the finance manager about that conversation, he said he’d have one overnighted. It’s been a few days and I have yet to see one arrive in the mail.
3) I sent two emails to the dealership’s GM, Greg Heinz, which got ignored. When I called to follow up on whether they could toss in a Yeti cooler that they were giving away for new truck purchases, but I felt would be a nice way for them to say thank you for spending the same amount on a used vehicle as new vehicles cost, and for dealing with the poor service, Greg said I was being nitpicky for listing off why my experience was poor, he then called me a cry baby toddler, and said he thought I was blackmailing him. Aggressive, egotistical, and immature to say the least.
4) The inspection report showed the tires were 7-8 32nds, but when I got home I measured and they were at 4 32nds, meaning they need to be replaced if I want to drive on I70 in the winter. I didn’t ask the dealer for any thing tire related (new tires or a discount on new tires) as a result, just pointed out the error.
5) I asked for a copy of the maintenance records that Corwin provided to the prior owner who had it serviced there, but was told they are not obligated to provide that and that the carfax has some of those details. I only wanted the actual records so I knew when to get the next services done. Greg, the GM, acted like I was asking for too much and declined to provide those.
Overall, my experience was absolutely miserable, mostly due to the GM, Greg Heinz’ unprofessional, overly aggressive, and disrespectful response to my constructive criticism about what I think they could improve on.
If you have a choice to buy from any other dealership, do it. There are plenty of corporations not ran by an egotistical, power tripping, used car salesman mentality GM. I’ll be sure to let everyone I know that’s buying a new vehicle to absolutely not do business with Corwin Toyota Boulder or any other Corwin dealership. I’ll also be reaching out to the ownership of the dealer to make sure they’re aware of their Game poor behavior and extremely poor customer service.

You clearly don’t understand why I was upset, so go re-read my comment above. It’s not about the cooler. It’s about the fact no one called me and no one was going to call me to get me pre-approved. I had to call back after waiting over a week from my original request to have a finance employee contact me.
The GM said he’d deal with me directly and take over the sale, which was a lie, as he was nowhere to be found when I showed up for my appointment.
I waited over 2.5 hours to do 10 minutes of paperwork.
I asked for a copy of the maintenance records and was told yes by the salesman and that he’d send them by end of day, to which I received no response.
The finance manager said he’d overnight me a paint pen after the salesman asked me to drive 3 hours round trip to come pick it up because he wasn’t sure if he had the authority to mail it. Still don’t have the paint pen that costs $15.
Then when I expressed my frustrations with the GM, Greg Heinz, he said I was being nitpicky, I was blackmailing him for asking for a cooler after having spent over $40k, and then called me a cry baby, toddler.
Not how I would treat an upset customer, but that’s how Greg Heinz does it!
The one star stands because your service is garbage, not because I didn’t get a cooler.

Just so the public knows, the dealership replied “privately” on 7/22, asking me to contact them so we can speak directly and so they can resolve my concern.
It was great that they changed their tune from “your feedback and one star rating are unwarranted and delete your review immediately” to “please contact us so we can speak directly and resolve your concerns”. However, I then emailed Greg Heinz, GM, and Clayton Cooley, salesman, on 7/22 with the following email to which I have yet to receive a response and honestly, based on Greg’s aggressive, immature, and egotistical behavior, I do not expect them to contact me since they already made the sale and don’t appear to actually care about my opinion or what service I received.

I saw that you had a more professional approach in your second reply/comment to my review and I appreciate the change in your attitude, as that type of comment is what I expected originally from a GM.
You had asked me to contact you to resolve this issue and I want to let you know that if my feedback and positive review actually matter to you and Corwin Toyota Boulder, then please feel free reach out to me with an offer that would make me consider deleting or updating my reviews and a personal apology for saying that you felt like I was blackmailing you and that I am a cry baby toddler. 2 things that I have yet to experience in 20+ years of being in sales and a lifetime of being a customer.
I’m open to listening to your offer and my cell is xxx-xxx-xxxx. You can call me anytime. However, if you choose to not reach out personally, then I do not see any reason to retract my statements.
