After a poor experience dealing with the representative who sold me my RAV 4 XLE Premium, I was delighted to be matched with Kou Vang. Kou took a great deal of time explaining how the various features of m who sold me my RAV 4 XLE Premium, I was delighted to be matched with Kou Vang. Kou took a great deal of time explaining how the various features of my new car worked & how to access them. He was extremely patient, kind, & understanding that I would have questions. This is the first vehicle I have ever driven that does not start with a key . ( I have driven many different makes & models over the past 57 years.) Kou was very reassuring and never made me feel ill at ease for making sure I understood exactly how things work in this vehicle. I have already told many people what a great person Kou is to deal with. I will highly recommend him to anyone. Kou Vang is truly an asset to the Inver Grove Heights Dealership. I arrived at Inver Grove Toyota without knowing what car I wanted. As soon as we pulled into the lot Chuck was there to greet us. He helped us find the car we were looking for without pushing us to the most I wanted. As soon as we pulled into the lot Chuck was there to greet us. Beware of Chuck. I sent an online inquiry for a truck i saw on cars.com. The auto-responder sent me a confirmation that my message was received. In my message, I asked SPECIFICALLY about the condition of the undercarriage, front & rear differentials, CAB CORNERS and ROCKER PANELS... My message was sent to Chuck, who texted me pictures of most of the items I asked about. Chuck and I later talked on the phone. I described to him the issue I have with most trucks (rust) I've been looking at and SPECIFICALLY called out the cab corners and rocker panels. Chuck assured me, "this truck looks super clean!..." and "I've been in the auto industry for 30 years, and I did automotive paint before I started selling cars..." Really laying it on thick about how big of an expert he is and how much I could trust him... I told Chuck I'd be driving in from an hour and half away, with my wife and newborn baby to look, so I was trying to do my diligence on the front end. Again, Chuck assured me, "this truck looks great, It's totally clean"... Fast forward 3 days to the weekend, I drive up to the cities to look at the truck. Chuck took my license, insurance and info so I can take a test drive. He pulls the truck around so I can load up my car seat, wife and take a test spin. As soon as I opened the rear passenger door to place the car seat, I noticed some VERY AMATEUR looking paint and body work on the rocker panel. I pointed out the questionable looking section of paint to Chuck, the "30 year auto sales / paint expert" and he said "Oh, I didn't notice that..." Which surprised me, because I specifically asked him MULTIPLE TIMES about that VERY SPECIFIC section of the truck. and he assured me over and over again that it was "clean". I'm not a paint expert, OR a car salesman, but I have (2) eyes and pretty good vision! I could tell the paint wasn't original because it didn't have the same level of clear coat as the surrounding areas. Also, It looked like an orange peel (porous and dull) - Something anyone who EVER spent even a day in a paint setting would know to look for. I was disappointed by Chuck's dumfounded look, so I dropped to the ground to inspect the rest of the running board and the other areas I specifically asked him to look over for me. What I saw was shocking. the body was so badly rusted I was able to break a silver-dollar sized chunk of it off with my fingers to show him how desperately the undercarriage was rotted. I pointed out rust from the rear cab corner, all the way up to the drivers door ON BOTH SIDES. His response was "Just take it for a test drive and let me know how you like it..." Chuck lied to me over the phone, multiple times. either he Didn't look at all, or he blatantly deceived me somehow hoping I wouldn't look for myself once I got to the dealership to test drive / buy. My wife spotted the cancer on the truck, across the vehicle from the passenger side seat as soon as we drove by it to leave the dealership. I wouldn't deal with this dealership if they were the last one in Minnesota. If I were the sales manager I'd ask Chuck for his resignation over his dishonest approach.
