West Islip, sunrise imports was terrible. Let me just start by saying, I was looking for a very specific car across the entire country and unfortunately, this was the only group that had the exact car that I wanted.
From the general manager, Vito never calling me back, never following up on anything, to the sales people lying, and telling you that even if I was to walk in and pay cash, I would have to go through their financing. You see it over and over on the reviews where they try to tell customers that the only way they can sell you a car is if you use their financing.
That obviously isn’t the truth, in the packet as you’re signing everything you have to sign off on a form saying that your own financing was available. At this point, my credit was already ran, and everything was already done, so I didn’t want to go through the hassle of using my own financing, instead I just refinanced everything as soon as I got the car, making sure that the dealer never got any credit for using their Ponzi scheme bank
Another issue I had was I bought this car out of state and had a company do a full inspection. Upon inspecting it, they never noticed the passenger fender was damaged, and after I received the car and transport, the transport company confirmed the front fender piece was damaged upon pick up, and the car dealer cannot prove in any pictures that it was already damaged when they had it. The company that I hired to do the inspection told me that if they missed it, they would claim it under their insurance, so I reached out to Volkswagen of West Islip 15 times just to get the original pictures so I can prove to the car inspection company that the damage was already there and they just happened to miss it so they can pay for it with their insurance. The fact that nobody at Volkswagen of West Islip would even respond to me, makes me feel that this damage happened between the time that I bought it, and when the truck picked it up and Volkswagen of West Islip should have their insurance pay for it.
They never disclosed there was only one key, this is a total cost of about $1000 to order a new one and have it programmed. I know when the person traded the car into them they knocked them down on the price because it was missing a key fob, and they hid the fact from me that it didn’t have the extra key fob. It only came with one whenever car comes with two.
So between the damage on the car fender, being absolute liars about using their financing, and missing the key fob, I don’t see any other way to resolve anything with horrible dealers like this other than a civil lawsuit

Thank you for your feedback. We will use the information you provided to continue to train and get better. We understand your frustration and this is why we suggested you come to the dealership and not have the car shipped. It is unfortunate that you decided to pay directly for transportation using a open trailer. Our dealer does not handle shipping for any client at any time for this reason and when shipping a vehicle anywhere in or out of state that's something you have to deal the shipping company directly.
Again we are sorry your vehicle was damaged during transport and maybe they lost the second key as well.
We suggest you reach out to your shipping company and request the shipping proof of damages from when the vehicle was picked up compared to when it was delivered to you.
Best of luck in your future purchases j.levine82

Vehicle was not damaged in transport, as stated above, at some point between purchasing the vehicle and when it was picked up by transport, the damage was done. Most likely on your lot
Not shocked, you guys can’t even read the reviews

Purchased a used car from them and they never gave me a bill of sale, never explained any part of the purchase price AND charged $4000 more for the car than what they advertised and what we we told we would pay even after providing proof of what the price should have been
Now they refuse to answer my questions about the price and have made excuses as to why NO ONE has responded to my question which I have called texted emailed and left voicemails about every day since we purchased it
DO NOT trust anyone at this dealership

Thank you reach reaching out.
Due to your request to deal with third party agencies like BBB and consumer protection agencies we must only respond through their portals.
We did submit a response to BBB today with our offer to resolve.

I live 1 1/2 hours away from your dealership and find it unreasonable to expect me to come in to the dealership for a question that can certainly be answered by phone

I am STILL waiting on a response from someone at your dealership about the additional $4000 charge for the vehicle
After my repeated requests via calls emails texts and voicemails over the following 11 now 13 days after purchasing the vehicle, I was continually told that no one could explain the discrepancy in the selling price of $24000 (before tax) that we were told that we would be purchasing the vehicle for and $30,577.14 (including tax) that was put on the only paperwork that we received at the time which was the loan paperwork and that I must wait for Sean to return for any further discussion or information OR even a bill of sale
Never was there an explanation of any thing that would be charged to us in addition to the selling price and never was a bill of sale shown to me or given to me at the time of purchase
Our salesperson Jayvien never discussed any additional fees at the time of purchase nor did Christina who was apparently doing all the paperwork for him
I did manage to get through a call to Jayvien at some point days later who again assured me that we were only paying the $24000 Again no discussion of any additional fees
My insurance agent tried to call to discuss getting a bill of sale and got Christina who rudely told her that she didn’t have one and that she could not get her one
My insurance agent called again and was finally able to get one emailed to her and forwarded it to me
The bill of sale does not show the undisclosed fees nor did the loan paperwork that was given to me. None of the paperwork that I have seen so far shows my signature on it showing any additional fees
Just to be clear we were told that the price of the vehicle was $24000 and was NEVER told about any additional fees or we would have not been interested in purchasing the vehicle from you
I have now seen on other reviews and complaints that this is not the first time that your dealership has done this to other customers
I am still holding out hope that you as the general manager will do the right thing and contact us to settle this matter in a reasonable manner
I have been so deeply distressed and unbelievably disappointed about how what started out as an exciting and joyous purchase for us has turned into such a tearful nightmare
Please contact me asap as I would really like to put this nightmare to an end
Christina was very knowledgeable.
She was extremely patient with me during the sales process and never put any pressure on me to buy. If you’re looking to buy a VW I highly recommend
