The purchase experience was great, the service so far has been subpar, service manager is hard to communicate with. I have had to reachout to my sales man to get in contact with my service manager. has been subpar, service manager is hard to communicate with. This review is meant to inform others about my experience with Southern VW. Bought a pre-owned car 12/26/24 and I ended up making my 3rd payment on the car before finally getting the car registered. I am o with Southern VW. Bought a pre-owned car 12/26/24 and I ended up making my 3rd payment on the car before finally getting the car registered. I am out of state and apparently the dealership depends on a 3rd party to complete the process. Frustrating as I intended to transfer my plate that I have had for 20 years and due to the amount of time it took this dealership and 3rd party company to process the title work, I had to surrender my plate to the DMV to avoid my license from being suspended. This was due to DMV saying I had a tag that wasn't registered and showed no insurance. Titling should never take this long. I ended up spending several hours of my time at the local treasurers office and DMV and was able to get the car registered on my own. I have bought many cars in my life and the sales experience was not very good. I was mislead about internet pricing only for it to change once I drove 5+ hours to the dealership for a bunch of dealership add-ons on a used car. Who puts a lojack package on a used car? Condition of the car was highly misrepresented as the listing said it had brand new tires on it only to find the tires were so worn out that the inside of tires had the wire hanging out on all 4. For a car with 17K miles on it I am convinced these are the original tires. Plus one of the wheels were curbed so bad that it also had taken a chunk off the tire. Makes me question the competence of the service department that inspected it. You'd think buying a VW from a VW dealership would have been better inspected. I have not put many miles on the car since purchasing it to be able to ruin these "brand new" tires as bad as they are. Now I have to replace these "brand new" tires at another unexpected expense. Reached out to General Manager just to be quoted that the dealership follows Virginia inspections standards instead of trying to come to some kind of mutual agreement. Dealer sells a car with tires that knowingly measured 4/32 to pass on the expense to the new owner to have to replace. Clearly at the end of the tires lifespan. Then instead of taking any kind of responsibility tries to say with a high performance vehicle can go through tires quickly due to excessive speeds and braking or if I hit a pothole like I could wear tires out in less than 90 days of ownership. One can assume that Dealer profits outweigh customer safety. More
