regarding the service I received on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025 at Audi Burlington, related to my 2019 Audi Q7. The purpose of my visit was to complet
regarding the service I received on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025 at Audi Burlington, related to my 2019 Audi Q7. The purpose of my visit was to complete the 40,000-mile scheduled maintenance and to have the vehicle assessed due to active dashboard indicator lights (check engine and triangle with exclamation mark).
Upon arrival, I was assisted by Service Advisor Anthony Ferrei, who has previously provided reasonable service. However, during this visit, Mr. Ferrei appeared rushed and dismissive despite only one other customer being present. He promptly stated my vehicle was due for its 40K service and quoted an estimated cost of $1,700, while also informing me that my warranty expired in May. While I acknowledged that I scheduled the appointment for this purpose, I explained that the indicator lights had been on for a week and were now intermittently off. I requested that the lights be prioritized to determine if the full 40K service was warranted.
Mr. Ferrei suggested a “minor service” at approximately $399, which included an oil and filter change, brake inspection, and tire check. I informed him that the tires and brakes had already been serviced within the last six months and did not require additional inspection. I also asked whether any notice regarding the upcoming 40K service should have been provided through the vehicle's onboard system or by dealership correspondence—he agreed there should have been.
Most troubling is the fact that I had a prior service completed on December 24, 2024, and upon review of my records and the technician’s video sent to me, I found that the service reminder indicator had not been reset, which would have notified me of the upcoming 40K service. Additionally, the oil/filter change that was completed during this visit was entirely unnecessary, given the December service.
When I followed up with Mr. Ferrei to address this oversight, he acknowledged that the oil change was redundant and admitted it was an error on his part, but dismissed my concerns by stating, “What do you want me to do—I can’t take the oil out of the car,” and “I can’t comp you as I’m not losing my job.” Such a response is unprofessional, unacceptable, and fails to reflect Audi’s commitment to high customer service standards.
As per Audi's own maintenance schedule and industry service best practices, service history should be reviewed thoroughly, and the vehicle’s onboard systems properly reset to ensure accurate tracking of scheduled maintenance. Oversights like these not only lead to unnecessary expenses for the customer but also erode trust in the brand’s promise of luxury and reliability.

At check-in, your vehicle’s service history was thoroughly reviewed, and it was clearly explained that you were not yet due for an oil change. Despite this, you elected to proceed with the minor maintenance package—which includes an oil change and inspection—and signed off on the work after being presented with all available options, including doing nothing.
Throughout the visit, our Service Advisor answered your repeated questions in detail and remained courteous despite ongoing complaints about pricing and multiple interruptions to other waiting guests. You later questioned charges for services you explicitly approved, and our advisor clarified this again at pickup.
We understand that dealership pricing may not always align with individual expectations, but we will not compromise the integrity of our work or the professionalism of our staff. Thank you for your response. I appreciate the time your team took to assist me, and I’d like to offer some clarification regarding the concerns I raised following my August 2nd service visit.
The core issue is that a duplicate minor oil change service was completed during this visit, even though my vehicle had already received a minor oil change in December 2024. Had my prior service been reviewed more thoroughly, I would not have approved another oil change just seven months later. This oversight resulted in an avoidable $627.85 expense, which I could have applied toward the 40K service that I originally brought the vehicle in for.
At no point was I informed that the oil change was unnecessary. It was only after I reviewed my own service records and raised the issue with Mr. Ferrei during vehicle pickup that he acknowledged the duplication—without offering an apology for the oversight or taking any steps to resolve the matter.
Additionally, I discovered that the service interval indicator was not reset after the December 2024 service. While this is a secondary issue, it added to the confusion by failing to alert me that the 40K service was due. Had the system been properly updated, I likely would have scheduled the full service earlier—potentially within the warranty window.
My issue is not with the dealership’s pricing structure, but with the lack of proper review and guidance, which resulted in a preventable charge. I'm not raising this concern simply because I disliked the outcome or it wasn't what I preferred. Rather, I'm addressing it because there was a clear service oversight, and my goal is to reach a fair and reasonable resolution—not merely to express dissatisfaction.
This matter could have been resolved through acknowledgment of the misstep, accountability, and a customer-first solution. Instead of Mr. Ferrei saying this “What do you want me to do—I can’t take the oil out of the car,” and “I can’t comp you as I’m not losing my job.” Such a response is unprofessional, unacceptable, and fails to reflect Audi’s commitment to high customer service standards. I share this feedback in the spirit of constructive dialogue and in hopes that it strengthens Audi Burlington’s continued commitment to transparency, accuracy, and quality customer care.
