Brian, as always, is awesome. For the 2nd time my front axle failed. Unfortunately, it was out of warranty. So I had to pay out-of-pocket.. The suggested problem was the different tread depths may have pot axle failed. Unfortunately, it was out of warranty. So I had to pay out-of-pocket.. The suggested problem was the different tread depths may have potentially caused this. The difference was less than 1/8" between both tires which is difficult to believe that it would have caused this problem.. Looked up, but didn't find anything that would suggest that tread depth difference could be the cause My gut feel is that it was defective in both cases. However, it was repaired quicker than expected. Hope this solves the problem. Talked with other auto shops and they feel there are tolerances designed and built into differentials that prevent this type of problem. However they all said it theoretically shouldn't have happened, given that it is not full-time 4 wheel drive. More
