Originally we were looking at using Focus Hyundai and stopped by as they had a larger selection of stock and I wanted my mother in law to get a better visual idea of the options she had on the Kona.
We spoke briefly with Sumit (this was about 3 weeks before buying), and ended up coming back to them to get a trade in price and rough quote on a 2019 Kona Ultimate so we could compare to that of Focus Hyundai. While we did get the "before you leave" sales pitch/save attempt, it was no where near as heavy handed or forceful as other dealerships. We did go back to Focus to get their pricing,. After the experience there, we were actually back at Murray within a few hours and on a 1:1 comparison Summit was miles ahead both in terms of Customer Service, Being Approachable and reasonable. (I'm pretty sure he was surprised we were back that day, as I tend to not give much indication either way)
Murray was able to offer us a substantially higher trade in for my mother in law's vehicle (to the extend we felt no need to try to haggle), and made every thing very easy for her to understand (she's not super great with Cars or Finance stuff). They did a great job of not making her feel pressured, and letting me also step in and help explain. During the financing and vehicle protection upgrade part, Graham was also a pleasure to deal with.. He spoke very plainly, showed her everything and what exactly it covered and also let her know what she could go with out (like GAP, as she'd be financing less the vehicle worth due to the trade in)
From start to finish the process was quick, professional and satisfying. They've not only earned my mother in law as a customer, but will be getting my spouse and my Sonata Hybrid' for servicing (even if it is a bit of a drive) and will be our go to dealership when we buy our next vehicle

So we originally (back in 2015) had a great experience with this dealership. From sales to finance was pretty smooth.. No real issues..
Fast forward to.. 2017
We went in to upgrade our Primary Car (2015 Sonata Hybrid) to 2017 Sonata Hybrid under a "promotion" they had (pretty trash promotion). We got stuck with some younger sales person who knew nothing about the car we were wanting (I knew more than they did) and we ended up having to get inventory from Vancouver to get even close to the color/trim level we wanted.. I should note, they under valued our trade about 3200$ less than a competitor did (and their promotion wasn't worth the difference). We also within about a month bought a second used vehicle from them.. Where they refused to negotiate on price or anything.. They couldn't find our winter tires after the trade in, they lost the hub nut covers as well. . And on a service of the used car left us a nice long scratch.. Oh also, for the 2017 we ordered in, they gave us a delivery date.. Called in to see if it was ready and it wasn't... They had to "rush it" and didn't do a very good job on the initial clean. Dennis had no qualms helping us cheat the system on financing either
Their service department is pretty awful to, the 2017 had a short with a wire harness (no big deal, all cars will have their issues) which caused the heated wiper landing to.. smoke.. Aside from not only not believing us on this, it took numerous shop visits to get it fixed.. At which point, the heated/cooled seats stopped working properly which took another.. 3-4 visits to deal with, and the head rest color (blue leather) peeled and that took a good month to get a part in for..
Fast forward to Summer 2019, we are shopping for a new car for our Mother in law.. a 2019 Kona Ultimate... They had very little stock period, they didn't even bother looking to see if they could get one in from another location.. And when we said we'd review numbers and go over her budget.. We got the "last ditch" sales pitch.. We asked if they could come up on the trade in by 1000$ (it was a 2015 Trax, which they already offered 3500$ less than a competitor did) and they wouldnt... Sales guy was also pushy and frankly rude when he called back. . We ended up going to a competitor (Murray Hyundai.. Review on that one is next)
Bottom line is, since they changed ownership they don't value the customer nearly as much.. It's pretty sad, as you used to get the bonus of dealing with a small local dealership (I believe its now owned by the same dingus's who own the Benz dealership)

Our sales rep. (Todd Witherspoon) was very knowledgeable on all Hyundai cars and SUVs. The sales Manager & business Manager are very friendly and easy to talk to. The Fowler Hyundai Dealership is very clean and well layed out for a very personal experience in buying or leasing new or used vehicles.
