I have a 10 year old BMW, and my wife a MINI Cooper S, a few years old.
They have the guys in the shop who know what they're doing!
I don't bother taking either of our cars to local 'backwoods' shops anymore.
The headaches just aren't worth it.
Have a BMW/MINI? Don't bring it elsewhere, or bother travelling off the Island.

Awesome Service Department - hiroanz
The JP Scion’s Service Department is awesome!! I took my Subaru BRZ (mechanically identical to the Scion FR-S) in for an oil change today. The service techs notice rodent droppings in the engine bay (I park outside, no choice), and clean the entire engine bay for me free of charge. I was very happily surprise when I got home, popped the hood, and noticed how sparking clean the engine bay is. I did not expect them to do that. That is service way above and beyond my expectations. The prices are also very reasonable, much, much less than what Don Docksteader Subaru charged me for the same oil change. I also appreciate the free ride Downtown. Thanks JP Scion, you’ve earned yourself a repeat customer.
Staff at MINI Richmond Very Knowledgeable - 'Pepper' North Van
MINI Richmond has been the first dealer in nearly 40 years of motoring that I have trusted. My MINI Cooper had a failed coil and it was fixed in good time and with a bill I could live with. Thanks to Service Rep Angelo for asking the right questions about my driving habits as he found my short runs had fouled the spark plugs and recommended they be replaced as well. Made all the difference in the world to the car and I am really pleased with how it performs. I compare DIY with dealer prices and found that MINI Richmond was the one service centre that was very close in my comparison. They also had the advantage of knowledge of MINI’s that I didn’t. My MINI has been back for regular servicing over 2 years now and they have a great service department and people who are knowledgeable and willing to share it. Hedley North Van
Terrible upseller - Choked
My wife took her 2008 Clubman S (120,000km) in because the service light came on.She was planning a road trip and wanted "peace of mind". Over $650 later they had changed the oil and filter, changed the cabin filter and performed a "mini" brake and "mini" coolant flush, whatever that is. They also recommended $4390 of work required. Leaking differential axle seal, leaking crank seal, leaking vacuum pump oil joints and a leaking valve cover gasket. The valve cover and the vacuum pump to be replaced even though they are not damaged. Also quoted $245 for manual trans oil, it holds less than 2 liters @ $8.10/litre! When I asked about their math they said "err, oops". I asked if they checked the level, they said no, they couldn't. Why not? No level plug they say. How do you fill it I ask? UMM, not sure, this from a service advisor. So, it's leaking apparently and they sent her off in it with the transmission oil level unknown. Nice guys! The PCV valve is integral with the valve cover they say, and "it always fails and is not serviceable" so we replace the cover at $556. The vacuum pump is lubed with engine oil through piping, this is where the leak is apparently. A gasket set (which is a mini kit) will fix that. Pump replacement is not required, the brakes are fine. So much for her peace of mind but her wallet is light and breezy.
So BEWARE, these are greedy and unscrupulous people who will inflate problems, prey upon ignorance, abuse their trust and actually flat out lie. STAY AWAY and tell everyone!
